Currently she's really keen on the idea of going out of state, to experience different climate/seasons/etc.  So Wisconsin is probably at the top of her list.  She'd definitely get some very different weather!

NC-State is up there was well.  And probably UC-Davis.

But she's dragging her feet on many of the scholarship applications and I've already told her it's going to be up to her to make up the financial delta if she's going someplace significantly more expensive than Texas or Texas A&M.

Luckily marching band season finally finished on Tuesday night so she'll have a LOT more time in the coming weeks to work on this stuff.
That makes me happy.

Oh and speaking of marching band and things that make me happy--

The Cedar Park High School marching band just won the Texas 5A state championship!  They absolutely blew the doors off the competition this year.  This is now 7 times in a row, and 9 total, both of which are Texas state records.

I haul equipment on and off the trucks, and on and off the field, so I take just a little bit of individual pride in the results.  But it's 99.9999% the effort of the students, and the leadership of the directors.  It's a really fantastic organization and I'm delighted my kids got to be a part of it.

The computer that was running my digital tap list died while I had stepped away from brewing for a while, so I hadn't worried much about it. But now I'm back brewing, and I wanted to revive it. It's been a task, since the main project wasn't being maintained so I had to find some alternate stuff and tweak a bunch.

It still needs some customization, but at least it's up and running!

Looks good in red, I've seen a few colors that don't look great, white is one.  Dark blue and green look solid.

Decided to change the brewery name... Thinking I'll end up with "The Engibeering Lab"

Just printed out a document that will have my wifi login in a QR code and then will have a QR code for the URL for the tap list [which will only be available for people on our house network], which I can laminate and put on the front of the kegerator so that people can easily see the tap list on their own devices.

Any ideas for a logo? This is what I came up with using Gemini...

I like that except for two little nitpicks.  I'd lift the name in a bit so that it doesn't sit right on the circle.  Winds up making the space between the letters awkward.  Also, it indicates the dead space within the logo is transparent.  Probably wanna pick a soft neutral color to fill that in with and have it be opaque.

I don't like white vehicles - fleet vehicle non-color
but, the Impala is a work car and didn't have many options for color with low mileage

I went over to the tennis practice wall and threw today, weather is nice.  I watched two dudes refurbishing the tennis courts next to it, a lot of lines, I THINK they are going to serve for paddle ball as well as tennis.  A lot of work laying down those lines.  It looks pretty good, but they were resurfaced just last year and still look fine.

I gather paddle ball is taking over.

One of my stepsons was just saying yesterday how all our tennis courts around here are being transformed into pickle ball courts.  He thinks it's a fad with the money folks who have sway with our parks.  I had never heard of pickle ball.
