Yesterday was our 12th anniversary. We walked down to the local flower shop and bought some flowers (duh) in a vase I brought had previously bought at that shop. The owner's son was there, 9 years old, with baseball glove and tennis ball, looking bored. So, we take the flower home and I take a couple photos and we think to walk back to show them to the nice flower lady, and I decided to take my glove and a baseball.
The flower lady is happy to have the photos, and I ask if "JD" would like to walk across the street into the park and throw some with a real baseball, the kid lights up, so off we go, my wife took some photos. The youngster throws and catches well, we tossed for maybe 30 minutes, my wife sends photos back to the mom who of course is delighted with that.
It felt good to throw with a youngster again, been a while. I even threw him a curve after telling him it was coming, he seemed impressed. My curve breaks nicely but I still don't have good command of it.
