I got to reveal to my daughter that Taylor Swift announced her upcoming album this morning...

I don't particularly care about Taylor, so the news didn't make me happy. It sure made HER happy though.

Her reaction to the news? That was what made me happy.

Oh, and the other thing about Sub70 is that they're located in Sycamore, IL (about 1.5-2 hrs west of Chicago). They have a full fitting studio there in Sycamore which I hear is really cool.

That doesn't help me, but while Sycamore probably isn't "around the corner" from Iowa... It's drivable.

Heard of them through reddit, but didn't realize they were in Illinois. I'll definitely look into that.

Yeah... One of my buddies that I knew in my college years used to "race" in the spectator class at Sycamore Speedway. We typically went out to watch and be "pit crew" to the extent that was a thing. He had picked up an old Lincoln Mark V (bear in mind this was the late 90s) to race. I remember sitting in the [open] trunk of the thing kicking out dents from the inside after one of the races... That was a freakin' land yacht!

That memory brought back some happiness lol...

Brewers won (again) today, meaning free George Webb burgers in Milwaukee at some point soon.   I won't drive up for the occasion, but the run the Crew is on makes me happy.  The long time diner always predicts the Brewers will win 12 in a row, and hand out free burgers when they do.

I remember attending a fan fest or whatever it was when Miller Park was about to open (early 00s).  When the Bernie Slide was inroduced for the first time, and many of us were aghast by it.      Someone in the crowd during Q&A politely asked Wendy Selig-Prieb (Bud's daughter) 'Uh, What happened to the Beer Mug Bernie slides into?'
She's like:   'we want this to be a family atmosphere, we love Bernie Brewer and wanted his home.... blah blah blah blah.......'

This classic Mustachioed Milwaukeean in the audience belts out 'We're the Freaking Brewers!!!!!'  It's in the Name!!!!'
Fantastic applause.   Team was run like a family restaurant for so long....those were dark days but that made me happy.

Bernie Brewer lands in the giant beer mug at County Stadium after a Brewers home run during the home opener against the Baltimore Orioles on April 13, 1973. (The originally scheduled home opener had been snowed out.) Bernie slid into the mug three times that first home opener: in an introductory slide before the game, and when Brewers hitters Pedro Garcia and Ollie Brown hit solo homers en route to the Brewers' 2-0 victory.
