18, 19yo kids with guns vs 18, 19yo kids with rocks. It was setup for something bad to happen. Shouldn't have happened, but it wasn't a good situation on either side.
There actually was an informant or sumsuch that "supposedly" fired off a warning shot as some of the traveling deviants found out he was blowing the whistle on them. This shot did not help matters along at all,also there were spikes amongst other objects being thrown repeatedly at the guardsman before hostilities erupted that landed behind them and grazed a few. Just a damn shame the real culprits didn't get apprehended then keelhauled
