Friends was a big event to my generation for a minute , we all watched it in HS and then college. I recall that Seinfeld and Friends were both on Thursday nights
That's why I played thursday night softball - they both sucked

The weird thing is that I can barely stand to watch either show now.  At the time, 18-22 years old, I couldn't get enough.  Now at 50 I can't watch anything except a few minutes here and there.  Seinfeld sucks, Friends sucks worse.

I don't think either one of them sucks.  I do think Friends hasn't aged all that well, Seinfeld probably a little better.

But in general I don't like re-watching TV shows anyway.  They never hold my interest the second time through.

I'm mostly the same on movies, aside from the aforementioned seasonal favorites.

I'm trying to think of shows that I still enjoy watching years later.  80's shows really didn't age well, but I was mostly in elementary school.  Knight Rider and Air Wolf are old school cool though!

90's...maybe X Files? Hardly ever see it on.

Ooof if you think Friends and Seinfeld didn't age well, wow, Knight Rider is among the all-time worst.

Probably belongs in the "Unpopular Opinions" thread but I also really, really hate All In The Family.  But I've always hated it.  Loud-mouth yankees yelling and put-down humor just aren't my thing.

Avatar The Last Airbender.
Yeah, it's a kids cartoon show, but if you've never seen it, it is really really good and I have watched the entire series through at least three times.
That's kinda the benefit of a "fantasy" type show (kinda the same thing with Sci-fi shows like Star Trek).  The world is different enough that if the topics are universal, they age really well.
Sure, the original Star Trek is dated from a technology level, but the stories are still interesting and far enough detached from the real (current) world that you can still easily slip into that world.

Carol Burnett is brilliant.

All In The Family and The Honeymooners-- gross.  Loud mouth yankees threatening to beat their wives.  Pretty much the worst shit ever thrown on TV.

I think it's probably TV comedies in general I just don't like to rewatch.  I've heard of most of these, enjoyed Frazier quite a bit, but have no desire to re-watch it.

I will occasionally re-watch an episode of Star Trek (original) or Star Trek TNG, if I'm bored and I stumble across it on TV.

Give me a break, I was 9 years old!  Of course KR didn't age well, neither did A-Team or any of the other TV shows from that era.  But if you think about it, KR exposed us kids to some concepts that were way before their time.  KITT was a car that had AI, self-driving, could access things from something like the internet like building plans and security systems, Michael Knight had a smart watch.

I never liked All in the Family either, but it was already in Re-Run status when I was a kid.  We actually loved the Jeffersons, never watched AIF.  We also watched a little bit of MASH.

Oh good call on MASH.  It's another of the few TV shows I actually enjoy re-watching.
