Cyclists are--in America--a weird bunch. Man I love my bikes. And I see way more dangerous things from motorists every damn day than some dumbass on a bike blowing a traffic signal, which is, admittedly, stupid and dangerous, mostly to him (and yes, has the potential to impact the person who hits him, too). But me saying it over and over again is unlikely to create the bicycle utopia I wish we had.

Oooh! This is a pet peeve: non cyclists complaining about cyclists, but not identifying the much more dangerous motorist behavior that goes on around them daily.
Another pet peeve of my someone complaining that I complained about a problem without complaining about another problem assuming I don't think it's a problem.  ;)

For my part, I want to be a good road user; all I ask in return is a little courtesy, and try to do the same. It annoys me that when I pull up to a stop sign, clearly later than the car on the cross street, the car often waves me through, sometimes clearly irritated. Bro, you have the right of way, please take it. BUT I understand that this is learned behavior because of cyclists behaving badly. That annoys me.

I did have someone start to get out of his truck to literally fight me once, because I was in the left hand turn lane waiting for a left hand turn light. I would have been out of his way as soon as I made the turn, but he was pissed that I was inconveniencing him.

I make a point of not riding two (or more) abreast when there are cars around; I don't run traffic lights (unless I've waited and there is no one around.) I at least slow way down for stop signs to make sure they are clear, and if any cars are nearby, I stop. I only ride on sidewalks when there is no other rational choice.

And I know that plenty of cyclists do not follow these same rules. Sigh.

And sometimes motorists buzz me because they think it's fun. And I see cars/trucks blow stop signs, traffic lights, and occupied cross walks all the time, presenting a much bigger hazard then some idiot on two manually powered wheels.

(I have a lot to say on ebikes, too--measured as you might imagine. Another time.)

Huge dick move, but always entertaining on Youtube.

Found a better landing spot

Hey can someone bounce some of these movie threads to the second page? Taking up front page space from every other thread that is as intriguing or relevant to CFB,with the season closing in

Seeing as we have 8 0f those and 11 of everything else,so quit bogarting the joint ,man

I have no idea why the best movie stuff got stuck to the top.  Maybe there is a reason.

I think you'll all live.  Never seen any old bastages complain as much about a few posts being pinned.

My latest pet peeve is old farts complaining about threads being pinned.

College football is weeks away folks.  And nobody needs to be discussing the 4th string o-linemen for Northwestern or Iowa.  This is for your own good.
