The Glastron factory was maybe a half mile from the house where I grew up. My parents still live there but the factory is long gone.
Glastrons were extremely common around Austin, I knew several people that owned them, and the dad of one of my friends was an engineer that worked for them for many, many years. Glastron is absolutely a part of the fabric of old Austin.
