I'm really getting tired of these twats bringing their comfort mutts everywhere. Stopped to get some cash at the bank and a woman with her furry sidekick right next me. I was filling out slips and discussing transaction while my other eye watching for that thing to lift it's leg. I asked the teller if I may wheel around a pony keg next time I'm in as this would releases all the stress I felt stopping there - he didn't seem to mind the idea.
Same. When did this become a thing?

F'ing hairy naked man (who does not want to be there) sitting next to me in a (outdoor only here) restaurant is not what I dreamed of.

CD should weigh in, but in France they dispense with the pretense of a "service" dog, and it's just a dog, and widely (not universally) accepted in restaurants (and other places).

The service dog thing is an impressive piece of American ingenuity.

Legit service dogs are impressive, and we can be thankful for them.

There are a lot of people who say they have a service dog when what they mean is something like "emotional support dog."  A service dog is trained very specifically, and very well, and a lot of them wind up not making the cut in that intense process, and none of their job descriptions is to be your bro.

K-9's are also impressive.  I used to be friends with a cop who was part of his department's k-9 unit (actually, small town, so him and the dog were the entire k-9 unit).  He wound up kinda ruining the dog, but when he started out, that German Shepherd was there to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and he was all out of bubblegum.

One of my best friends ran a K-9 hound as a cop. Search and rescue stuff. Very cool. Was featured on MythBusters twice.

An even better scam has developed to be able to keep your dogs in rental property that forbids the same.

Have your dog declared an Emotional Support Animal.  Can't kick out a tenant for violating the lease clause if so designated.

What a Country!

Yup, pretty much, and watch out for the poo in Paris.

We're headed back in late November, to Paris and then Nice/Monte Carlo.  Our music director is "directing" the MC Symphony and a group of "supporters" (musical) are going over for several concerts and dinners, including hers.  We're spending some time in Fountainebleau to see friends et al. and then in Burgundy at a pretty nice hotel.

M
y wife says it's cheaper to FLY from Paris to Nice than take the TGV which otherwise takes 8 hours.
