Use to almost all my cars maintenance and repairs.  Stopped that when I figured my time was worth more.  Now I lease a car get the maintenance package and let the dealership handle it all for no additional cost.  Lease cost is just part of my budget and don't have to worry about surprise costs

They do that because they want you walking around looking at a new car.

I'm serious. A former salesman once told me that.

I think any tactic to get folks into the showroom is used.  Of course, as you suggest, if I'm there 2+ hours, I'm in the showroom for ten minutes, maybe, which would happen if the wait if hours or 30 minutes.  I did finally get an email to rate the service.

I had some fairly vivid dream I was in my old house pondering the landscaping and whether I should mow the grass again.

So, now I'm awake, with no grass to mow fortunately, but it scared me.

We're off to FL tomorrow, will report back on the "Grand Marlin", still haven't found anywhere else that looks interesting.

That’s not at all surprising.

it’s funny, all the local mechanics I’ve ever dealt with absolutely want me the hell out of their Waiting room, which makes sense.

I'm grumpy about the shape and state of my stomach.  I mean, late-mid-40's, not particularly active....ok, I get it, I'm not gonna always look the same as I used to.  But this seems related to the major abdominal surgery last year.  It was sudden.  There was, seemingly overnight, a big belly expansion, which looks dumb given that I'm otherwise pretty slender.  And even grosser, it's worse on the side they went in on.  The right part of my belly is more bloated and puffed out than the left side, which is just weird.

Wife says major abdominal surgery like that can weaken the abdominal walls and cause stuff like this.  Been doing more situps, which she says may help, but I'm not seeing any difference.

I guess it's better than having lost a full kidney--or the ability to exist above ground--to cancer.

Sorry to hear, man.

One of my buddies has a protruding right side of his stomach.  I chalk that up to the whiskey and his liver having to grow to accommodate.

Latest CT scan shows no hernias, so there's that.
