My doc sent me to a dermatologist, I figured it was good advice.  The Skin dude checked me over and found one spot on my chest, came back positive for basil carcinoma, he excised it.  I'm good to go.

I go to the PCP doc once a year mostly for the blood work.

Had the oil changed on the Equinox when we had it. $135 at Jiffy Lube, which I thought was ridiculous. F that place.
Alot of these places are quick change artists. I'm sure not all they employ are bad folks. But mechanically speaking they have a tendency to cross thread the drain plugs. Happened to me and I didn't know it until I took it to my usual mechanic(who was pricier for oil changes).

So when he had my car in the air doing some front end work I told him to change the oil while it was there. He called me back and told me the previous change the gorillas stripped the plug and used some sealant. He asked if I wanted pictures,I said eff it.He had to get a bigger plug and retap the threads on the pan. As a new pan would have cost more - it there was in stock.

And I've heard that refrain before from others about plugs and quick change places. Most of those guys are in between jobs and have no designs on sticking around. It's like the old Fram commercial "You can pay me now(shuts the cash drawer) or pay me later(shrugging his shoulders)"

I'm happy for him and appreciate his healthiness

His time is coming
I'm sure he appreciates your health care insights. Which holes to stop at for a Havana or for a Bier what patches not to piss in and how to identify poison ivory

Happened to my wife's Honda at a Walmart.  They cross-threaded her plug and fouled it up.  Haven't gone back there since.

Yeah, with the VW, I took it to the dealer every time up to the last one.  I got two free, and then it was $130 or so, $177 seems pricey.  But I'm leary about getting the car messed up.  The is a foreign car repair place not too far away, might be OK.

I'm willing to pay over $100 for synthetic, I just don't want to wait 3 hours.

They do that because they want you walking around looking at a new car.

I'm serious. A former salesman once told me that.

And I bet plenty of rubes fall for it.

Yeah, they are alienating a client.  VW didn't take nearly that long.  Cadillac would be in and out in an hour.

I actually strolled through he showroom, it was around 10 AM.  I looked a bit at the current Tucson, it has a nice wrap around looking panel now.  Otherwise seemed the same.  I was there maybe 5-7 minutes, nobody said a thing to me.  I think they know folks are coming from the service area.

I'm pretty sure last time I got an email asking for feedback, this time not.  I think that service "manager" knew I was unhappy.

Good to see you're both getting oiled

I bought a 3 pk of Pennzoil's best synthetic for high mileage vehicles on line & saved about 10 bucks buying them than buying seperately. Found an old school mechanic on Clevelands west side, pals with an old buddy. He has an ancient gas station that hasn't had pumps in 30/40 yrs. His father/family have owned/operated it since crossing the pond in the '40s after the War. Gave him the oil he changed it for 35.00.

Same guy replaced the front struts on the Corolla in June for half the price the guy 3 yrs ago did that for.And that guy was the lowest of the 4 estimate's I got then. THis mechanics over head is a lot lower. One thing that amazed me is how he aligned the new tires he got me by hand and I have driven the highway and car doesn't drift at all. Those tires he got for a hell of lot cheaper than even super Walmart did.

Prolly should take it to the Happy thread
