Gapper looks like Tickle Me Elmo after a three year bender.
Do you still have yours?Do you take him on benders?

Elmo wasn't even on Sesame Street, back in the early 80s when I was banging.

Not OG.

I assume that is a Purdue logo a few posts back.  My high school logo was almost exactly the same in the 90's to the point I realize they must have copied it way back when but made him into a rough neck.

I had this program for the longest time.  Not sure why it's a flying pink elephant, but okay....
and it looks like Tom Brady was the ball boy.

You're just mad because UGA is left out.  All you have is UGA, all you've ever had is UGA, and the Hairy Dawg mascot is normal enough to not merit consideration.  :86:

Yeah, there isn't much to it on this thread.  UGA himself often is voted Best Mascot though, to the extent such votes matter.

Hairy Dog is kind of inane to me.  But the old mascot photos and memorabilia is a fun topic I think.

Florida had a live gator in the 50s-70s.  At first it was just fenced in.  Can you imagine that?  A simple chain-link fence separating college guys and a live alligator?!?

They eventually put a chain link roof on the enclosure.  But nowadays, all of the gators on campus are in their natural environs.

Does LSU still have Mike?  Texas has Bevo.  I think UNC has some kind of ram.  Sort of interesting which can have live mascots and not.  Ohio State, not so much, nor Stanford.  U. of Miami, rarely ...

What is Ole Miss now?  Colonels?

The Braves used to have Chief Noc-A-Homa in a teepee, for a young CD that was pretty cool.

I was telling the wife about the old Atlanta Crackers baseball team, we had brunch next to where they stadium was.  I explained why "crackers" now is a pejorative term applied to people, but back in the day, they also had the Atlanta Black Crackers.

History can rhyme.
