I like using it at work to say “do we do this process because the person who left two years ago liked it that way?”

How do you rank the bay area teams?

1. San Jose State - by virtue of beating Hawaii late last night

2. Cal (lost to 2-2 UNLV)

3. Stanford (mercilessly blown out by Wake)

For the bottom two, it’s no help that they go completely limp when playing their ACC games on the East Coast. A disadvantage that should on-paper get offset by hosting ACC teams in The Bay. However, both have also suffered blow outs at home already, in empty stadiums - Stanford to Miami; Cal to UCLA.

I tend to agree. I think Cal’s football program is unfortunately the most vestigial one there is, so it’s hard to accept a step down because it opens up even more existential questions.
The sports act caps conferences at 20 schools. Assuming the SEC grabs the 6 best ACC schools, the B1G could probably take the two Bay schools to balance out the West more.

I'd like to have Georgia Tech and Miami in the B1G, knowing full well they could probably never get Texas and Florida.

The B1G really f'd up adding the West Coast instead of concentrating on the mid-Atlantic and SE.

I didn't want to say this before the game and jinx it but, as an Ohio State fan it seems to me that Iowa is never a threat when people are talking about them. They are a threat when nobody is talking about them.

GameDay has been to Iowa City three times, all when Ohio State came to town. Ohio State is 3-0 in those games and none were particularly competitive.

Iowa beats Ohio State now and then and even beats them badly sometimes but it is pretty much always when nobody thinks they have a chance.

Gotta love Texas Tech just sliding up above teams that lost.  Not that it really matters anymore
