I'm slightly interested in Tennessee at GaTech.  Either could be a decent team, or mediocre, or even bad.

Yeah, the Vols probably aren't "bad", Tech could be.  The Vols more likely are a decent team, 8-4 or 9-3ish.

I shared some coverage with my students today.  They had A LOT of questions.

Another teacher was in my room, observing a student.  Said she was in kindergarten when it happened, made me feel old.  I was 21 asleep at a lady-friend's place :93: when her sister called and woke us up, telling us to put on the news.
That was between the 2 planes hitting the WTC.  We saw the 2nd and my friend was still thinking it was an accident, but I told her nope, not after 2.  It was on purpose.

My students today wanted to know everything about it.  Yes, everyone in the planes died.  Yes, the people in the buildings died.  No, there weren't any kids in the buildings.  Yes, we found out who did it.

The biggest question mark after all of the questions is that they couldn't wrap their heads around people doing this and knowing they'd die doing it.

How do you explain demented ideological actions to a 9 year old?  You don't.

Rutgers, after the complete embarrassment last weekend, also fails at a tush push... Turns the ball over on their own 39 barely into the 1st quarter.

Apparently 35% of Americans weren't alive in 2001, then you account for those who were <6, you are getting close to 50% having no actual memory.

Kids had a bunch of questions at dinner tonight.  I think the thing about living through it, beyond the horror of experiencing it, is that we were advanced enough to have enough information at our fingertips, but still not enough to be reliable.  There are YoUTube videos of CNN, FoxNews, ABC, whatever, in real time, and the amount of stuff that just didn't happen that they "reported" on was insane.  It made a scary situation even scarier.  Pearl harbor, nobody knew about in real time.  JFK was in real time, but it was isolated.  You rewatch those broadcasts, there are reports of a car bomb at the State Department, a gunman in the Capitol.  Then you had the anthrax and Richard Reid shortly thereafter, there was a sense of fear that I think goes beyond what this country has ever felt.

I haven't watched any 9/11 footage in a very long time.  There are two things I pretty much dont need to see anymore,   Jeffrey Dahmer shows (i lived that in Milwaukee) and 9/11.

I do talk about it w my kids whenever they want.

Yeah, that was what shifted it for me was my kids wanting to talk about it, particularly the oldest, because he said the video they watched included calls from the planes, which feels unnecessary and heavy for 7th grade.  I've never even been able to listen to those

if Georgia Tech had 51 rushing yards against the Buffs and lost, they are REALLY bad

Halftime report. Losing 14-0. Could be worse. The band was good though
