If US, China, or Russia can't broker this.....don't see who can. UK is seen as just a US sock puppet (because they are) - scratch them. And yes, that part of the world is pretty messed up and we have a big hand in why that is so. Saudis are our BFFs. They behead and crucify teenagers for going to pro democracy rallies and literally butcher dissidents like cattle that speak out against the king. US empire gives zero fucks about minority rights, religious rights, freedoms of foreign countries....it's all bullshit. Israel and Palestinians can get a peace and so can Israel and Iran if they were able to make a peace deal with Egypt. Both sides just have to want it. Israel's Prime Minister doesn't want peace- he never has wanted it.

Egypt and Israel were mortal enemies that went to war in what seemed to be every few years- and we've been bribing them ever since 1979 to be buddies and not kill each other and it's worked pretty damn well. Bribery is a great tool when used correctly.

I think most of us agree we don't want the US to be doing the lifting for Israel, or SA, or anyone else over there.  At the same time we must recognize that we do have important interests in the region and we have no choice but to politic in and around all of the major players.  

That's politics.  That's life.  We are forced to interact with unsavory characters, because we're all on this planet together, and not everybody's a good guy.  We can still work toward good, without doing evil.  That's the hope, the dream, and occasionally, it works out okay.

I'm usually more interested in potential practicable solutions than problems which we can all see pretty clearly.
