My grandparents were pretty self sufficient back in the day, living in the country.  There would have been a county sheriff somewhere, but probably not there if needed soon enough.  Fire?  On their own.  Roads?  Yes, they needed them.  My paternal GPs lived on a dirt road.  Country folk need less government than city folk.  It's one reason for voting patterns.

That is still the case for most rural folks.

In rural areas, one house burns down.

I urban areas, city blocks can burn down (especially during a riot).

Rural folks are more careful (and they certainly don't have riots).

You mentioned schools, I overlooked that, my parents all attented public schools K-12 (there were no alternatives then).  They both graduated college, something pretty rare for women in 1940.  They both went into teaching after the war.

Public schools are important even if many today are failing.

The schools that we put our kids through were pretty good. We bought in the best district we could afford, and it was worth it.

Chicago public schools are terrible. Anyone who lives in the city and can afford it puts their kids in private schools.

You're so skewed, it hurts.

Rural people aren't more careful, they're spread out.  Duh.  One fire = one family with no home
In a city, one fire = several families with no home (as you sort of acknowledge)

You know this, but your bias is too busy taking over.  ANd what he fuck do riots have anything to do with the subject matter?  Enjoy your bubble.  I'm tired of being disappointed by you.
