If I own a McDonalds, my demand is as high as pre-COVID and perhaps a little higher, as perhaps some people got out of the habit of eating in a restaurant.  My prices increased when demand was down, but with demand back up and my business being sort of an institution (people are going to McDonald as long as it stays consistent), why the hell would I lower my prices?
To its credit, they came out with a $5 meal, but it's less to ease costs to customers and more to compete with other fast-food places' low-dollar meals.

Except they did it first.

Companies don't lower prices to "ease costs to customers".  They do it to remain competitive, or grab business going elsewhere.

The objective of any business is to maximize profits over time, they may give up some early to get more later at times.

So, fans, if you don't like a call, litter the field with water bottles and boo, and  while that's being cleaned up, the refs will reverse the call.

That was crazy.

I do think it was the wrong call.   We had seen that same play OSU v Oregon- and I was called offensive PI.   This time they called it Defensive PI.
just my 2 cents, but both should have been no call at all.

I didn't think a call by a ref on a penalty could be reversed once it was called.  The time to clean the field up allowed that to happen.  It was very weird.

Ultimately it didn't matter as to who won, so that's good.

I can't figure this Dawg team out, Beck was laser precise last year and this year he's missing a lot of receivers pretty badly.

The defense was great last night.

College football Week 8 highlights - top plays, games, takeaways - ESPN

And when the dust settled on Week 8, it's not Georgia or Alabama or Texas or Tennessee at the top of the SEC standings. Instead, it's LSU and Texas A&M
Texas A&M -- two teams that lost in Week 1 -- now the lone programs still undefeated in conference play.

It is perhaps fitting that the most memorable moment from Saturday's SEC chaos was a meeting of officials on the field in Austin, with fans tossing trash from the stands and both coaches apoplectic on the sidelines. None of this makes much sense, and we're all struggling to sort out what just happened.

Alabama was king three weeks ago, and now the Tide have the same conference record as Florida.

Saturday's performance in Knoxville was ugly. The offense managed just 314 yards. The Tide had 15 penalties in the game. King Mack's acting skills were atrocious.

Just seeing this - yes no call for sure what irked me about the jeremiah Smith call was the DB initiated contact so the receiver is allowed to follow thru. But that rube of a ref did not stop there - he called it interference also when the ball clearly was not in the air at that time. That ref swung and missed twice on the same play

Wisconsin (5-2)
After dropping back-to-back games to Alabama and USC, the Badgers have found their mojo with three straight wins in which they allowed a grand total of 16 total points. That those three wins came against PurdueRutgers and, on Saturday, 23-3 vs. Northwestern, undercuts a bit of the enthusiasm, but after enough Brandy Old Fashioneds, who's really counting anyway?
Vanderbilt (5-2)
These are halcyon days in Nashville. Will Levis is doing shirtless mayo commercials. Sturgill Simpson is doing what amounts to an Eras Tour for middle-aged guys with beards. And Vanderbilt is 5-2 after Saturday's 28-14 win over Ball StateDiego Pavia accounted for 357 yards and two touchdowns in the win, which puts the Commodores ahead of Alabama, Ole Miss and Oklahoma in the SEC standings because the world no longer makes any sense.

If I'm either of these two kids, I would quit the team immediately after those comments.

"I would like to apologize in my postgame press conference I talked about our kicking game like I do offense / defense," he wrote. "However the kicking game is always directed at one player. I should not have done that and I apologize. This team's losses will always 100% fall on myself."
Dillingham acknowledged an open tryout won't necessarily lead to a change, in which case the team will stick with the status quo.
"If somebody is [good enough], then, you know, welcome to the team and we'll rock and roll from there," Dillingham said.
