Agree completely.

And it is beyond irritating.  Fro is right on this one….the masses.
Yep. Although I'm not as strident in saying it as him, I've probably got a dimmer view of the masses than even he does.

Isn't it a bit elitist to have a dim view of "the masses"?  We are the masses, part of the masses at least.  I suppose there is nothing wrong with being a quiet elitist.

I'm reminded of the idea that "we" put the "smart people" in charge and they make decisions for us in the economy and elsewhere.

Anyway...

Sadly, I am right there with you.

The last thing I want to do is give the impression that I think I am smarter.  I know that’s wrong.

but I was raised to believe that you need to think about others, you need to TRY to leave things better than you found them. Civility leads to compromise which leads to positive results.

Those are things I truly TRY TO live by.   It seems those things are nowhere to be found in the masses. Especially politics.

I really admire the older folks out there running, we're old slow of molasses in winter time, but we're running.  The Atlanta Track Club shows up every so often, usually 5-6 guys and 5-6 gals, the gals are easy on the eye too.  The guys blow by me like a hurricane, I drift off the track when I hear them coming.  One thing they run is 1000 meters, then walk, then run it again, pretty much flat out.  Their coach told me they try and run at a 5 minute mile pace for thhe km.  Granted they are 25ish, and when I was 25ish I could run pretty well, not 5 minute miles, but I used to run 18 minute 3 miles.  LOONNNGG ago.
Ya well every heart has so many beats so don't push it.I always leave my beer in the garage keeps it cold and out of the light. Until it gets below 25° then even the grog stops sloshing around. Point is you have to get up and stretch the legs burning up those calories to get one btw the garage sits back from the house - not real hard on the joints either. Unless it's a 30 second time out then I turn into Usain Bolt

My philosophy is to return the grocery cart to the cart corral, and maybe put in a few others as well.

And to pick up litter when I'm able, my wife doesn't like when I do this.

And to drive 90 and freeze a Yankee.

Anyone who cares about the future of our country, our kids, should be bothered by this.

Both parties suck on this.
Personally, I'm truly bewildered by this.  This issue, the debt and deficient, should be without question the #1 issue of all the campaigns.  President, Congress, Senate.

Not abortion, trans-rights, LBGTQ+, Israel, Ukraine, or Gaza.  Fuck all of them.  If we as a people don't wake up we're going to find out it's too late.

The gov't has a Credit Card, it's called American People Express, and they're running up the tab.  It's time to figure something out, well past time for that, but it's almost like a non-issue to either party.

It’s a losing issue to be serious about.

Neither Trump nor Kamala or any of their contemporaries have any plan for this either.  It's basically a non-issue with any party or candidate, even with the people.

Me and my wife were in a restaurant yesterday, about 4ish PM, it wasn't very crowded.  I guess the lunch crowd had moved out and the dinner crowd hadn't arrived yet.  It was my wife's B-Day and we decided to have a nice quiet dinner.

We get there, find a seat, and sit down.  We're minding our own business.  There's a man at a table about 20ish feet away, he's busy talking to somebody else.  We pay him no mind.  After about 20 minutes he loudly asks us if we knew the owner of this restaurant.  We replied that we did not, he then starts rambling about somebody wanting to buy it, I didn't really know WTF he was talking about.  He smiled and said something like oh, ok.  Maybe had some courtesy type words back, you know, how's the weather type shit.  We're not close to this man at all, we don't know him.  He then starts in on how the country is just going downhill, and people need to rise up, yada yada, 2nd amendment, government this and government that.  I mean he was getting really wound up.  By this point we don't look his way, we're just like mm hmm....but he doesn't seem to notice.  He just keeps on rambling, we're completely silent by this point.  We were having a nice time, our food had arrived, and he's talking at us from 20 feet away about how bad things are going to get if we don't elect Trump.  I finally told the man that we're going to enjoy our dinner now, that'll be all.  My wife gives me this look, and mouths I'M READY TO LEAVE.  NOW.  I already know she's not effin' around.  I scarfed down the rest of my food, she went and paid the bill and we rolled out.

I have never in my life been sucked up into a political debate (we never conversed with him, just tried to mind our own business) with a complete stranger who felt like he needed to start babbling on about his preferred politics.

I had an uneasy feeling when we left, because I started thinking about how polarized people are right now all over the country.  Heck, we've already seen two nut jobs try to take out Trump, and I'm sure somebody has plans for KH as well.

Watch yourselves out there folks.  They're getting nuttier by the day.
