Oh and San Fransisco has long been a raging dumpster fire. I blame the awful Democrats who have held power there for like oh-ever- it's not just Newsom or Ka-hahaha- and also the tech weirdo pussies for that.
wasn't that dirty Dianne's district, remember it got shut down during covid but that myopic gash opened it up for her perm while not wearing a mask? Somebody should throw a bucket of water on her so she'll melt away already

I think Trump has clowned on DeSantis so much over the past 8 years that nobody, inside our outside the party, is going to touch him.  He's damaged goods.  Which was exactly Trump's intention.  It's good for him, and bad for the Republican party.  Which he's fine with.
Yeah, so this is just inaccurate. Trump hasn't been clowning on him for 8 years. Trump endorsed him for governor of Florida. Twice.

I wouldn't say he's damaged goods. He's just honestly doesn't have much personality. He's not really charismatic or interesting. Not a good thing to be if you're trying to become President.

Trump was seeking the 2024 GOP nomination for President- DeSantis was one of the only 2 or 3 actual potentially real challengers to him- of course Trump was always going to go in on that ass. How can anyone blame Trump for that?

I think you got your wires crossed.

You're thinking about your friend Nancy.

If DeSantis gets a Cabinet position, which is in play, a lot of that goes away.

Yeah, we lose a Governor, which sucks. But I think this guy would do a good job at it.

That or maybe the Miami Mayor.
giving up the governorship of one of the 3 most important states in the country where you are wildly popular in to take a cabinet position seems kind of dumb to me. but that's just me.

He did the same to him in 2020 and 2016.  Clowned on him incessantly.  Nobody outside of Florida would take him seriously as a presidential candidate.  Of course it's what Trump would do and what he's supposed to do, but it still makes DeSantis damaged goods to the Republican party and the RNC.

Anyway, I do agree with badge that he'd be fine in a cabinet position, or any other office within the state borders of Florida.

I go back and forth on it. He only gets two terms so he's giving up 2 years to beef up his national profile more.

I guess it's all about his ambitions at this point. He could finish his term and then campaign for two years, or still serve in Trump's Cabinet, which was a revolving door and probably would be again.

He didn't start to go after Ron until last year, when Ron announced a run of this own. Ron was not on the ticket at all in 2016 or 2020. He was endorsed by Trump in 2018 and 2022. Ron endorsed Trump in 2016 when he was in the House, endorsed him in 2020 as Governor, and now endorses him for 2024, albeit quietly this time.

DeSantis was always a potential rival and yes, Trump clowned him back then, just as he does now.  Preemptive clowning is still clowning.

Obviously after DeSantis kissed the ring, Trump endorsed him.  And obviously governor of Florida is a less threatening position to Trump so he'd naturally want to keep him there.

Trust me, outside of the state of Florida, nobody would take him seriously as a presidential candidate, which is precisely as Trump intended.

Some of that sounds pie in the sky, some of it sounds borderline illegal, and some if it sounds like good old-fashioned pork.

Good plan. Where ya been for 3.5 years, dumbass?

Harris has a plan to fix one of America’s biggest economic problems. Here’s what it means for you (msn.com)
This is a real  strategic dilemma for Harris.  She doesn't want to be too closely tied to Biden but that is largely unavoidable since she is, ya know, the VP.  At the same time, coming out with policy proposals like this just invites the rather obvious criticism that you just made.
