"Confit" is a French method of cooking something at low temperatures in fat, in part for preservation, often duck.

"Confiture" is basically "preserves", of fruit, meant to preserve it.

Pelosi was certainly leaning on Joe to withdraw. but I guarantee you she was expecting a freewheeling brawl for the nomination on the floor of McCormick Place. 

She did not expect either the timing of the announcement, or the rapid consolidation of the Democratic rank-and-file around Kamala.

The NASDAC was at this level in early May, so basically, the gains of June and July were wiped out, two months, not really a major loss.  Corrections happen, and can be good for the market.  We get panic selling and things spiral down quickly until folks start thinking they will bottom feed a bit, which happened some today.

Don’t ignore the larger issue, which is the “why “the market tanked.  Recession fears due to elevated unemployment and signs that point to even greater unemployment

Truly massive hits here, I've never seen anything like it.  My longtime best friend from high school and college, Bald Greg who some of you met at the tailgate party, was let go effective Friday.  His entire division was cut.  He's been with the company for 26 years.

Looks like I'm okay this time, but there will likely be another wave in Q1.
