I don’t think packing SCOTUS is unconstitutional.  They started with six.
I don't think it's good for the country.  Since judges apparently can't be middle-ground (which irks me to no end), a balanced court is what's best for the country, independently.

I can’t believe the lack of info about the assassination attempt.

Now they are acknowledging that they were aware of him 3 hours prior.  And they acknowledge that the protocol is to not allow the asset ( Trump) to take the stage    And they can’t or won’t answer the “why” they did.

So strange- the easiest point of attack, identified beforehand, left uncovered.

Guy is identified as a risk long before the event.  Just weird.

Now they are saying there is a strong possibility of more attempts on Trump, based on their intelligence.

Just strange, and so secretive.
I mean by aware, do they mean simply that he bought a firearm?

They actually watched him walking around that day.  They identified that he had a range finder. They watched him, lost him, and picked him up and photographed him.

They labeled him a serious threat on their main radio channel 10 minutes before Trump took the stage.

I respect your opinion, but I'll suggest that despite your intelligence and general neutrality, and despite your opinion of the origin of your beliefs, that the constant rhetoric is in fact getting to you and shaping the way you are forming your opinions.

I don't like Trump, have never voted for him, and will never vote for him.  I think he's a mean person, a nasty person, a selfish and self-absorbed person, and in general a complete asshole.  But during his presidency, I actually agreed with a decent amount of his policy, and the parts I didn't agree with, never really grew into anything that became codified in law in a way I felt was long-term detrimental.

That's actually different than what I'd say about Obama-- I believe several parts of his platform that he managed to push into execution, are currently and will continue to be long term detrimental to our country.

And perhaps the main difference in viewpoint between you and me, is that I don't see Trump doing much different, or much worse, than he did in his first term.  I'm not afraid he's going to completely change his approach and really mess things up this time, if he didn't do it the first time.  Sure he's selfish and self-serving, but in many ways his self interests align to what I consider to be the interests of this country.  And so if he enacts some of those things into policy and it benefits him, there are cases where it will also benefit the country, in my opinion.

We all have our own lenses and approach things differently, and some people hated his policy in the first term and so will invariably hate it in his second term (should that happen, of course).  But I don't see any evidence to believe he's going to radically change his direction at this point, and in general I don't think he did anything devastatingly terrible in his first term.

Just my opinion obviously, but I choose not to let the outside voices-- the mediots and politicians and parrots and stooges-- color my perception of how a second Trump presidency would go, in relation to the first.

And if Sleepy Joe gets elected, then I don't think my own personal life will change much, either.
I wish I was as eloquent as Marcus, but he puts his positions into words much better than I can.

So, ditto.

Personally, I never voted for Trump. Can’t really stand the man, but I thought some of his policies and such were ok. I can see why he’s so divisive, with not much gray area. I thought maybe the events of J6 were enough to put him in a very bad light to many, but over time I’ve decided maybe J6 isn’t really that big a deal.

I'm guilty of not wanting uneducated people to run important things and find it embarrassing for adults to believe in an invisible man in the sky.

Ya got me.
Please define "educated" for me.

Looking at the new 538 poll, they give Biden a slight edge- saying if the boat were today, Biden would win 54 out of 100 times.
They have an unusual algorithm based on factors like how the economy is faring etc.  It's not based on polling exclusively.

Biden Called ‘More Receptive’ to Hearing Pleas to Step Aside - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

I have no clue what this really means.  It's a binary kind of thing.

Apparently the shooter wasn't discriminating, may have shot Biden too but Trump's event was closer to his house.

Its not the messaging and I haven't seen any Democrats polling better than Biden.  The election is not about Biden's feebleness or senility.  It's about what the Democrats' policies and actions have done the last three and a half years.

I doubt the polls shift much from here unless something MONUMENTAL occurs.  The Trump voters are decided, the antiTrump voters are decided, the rest will split somewhat randomly or not vote, and turnout favors the Trump side, as does the Electoral College.

Donald Trump holds edge over Joe Biden in Virginia: Poll (thehill.com)

If Trump wins VA, it's over.  I don't think there is any path for Joe if that happens that is at all viable.
