We're already in a tariff war with China.  It started roughly four decades ago and has been incredibly one-sided for almost the entirety of that span.  The US didn't really fight back until about 6 years ago.

I don't know that our actions made us "poorer."  Taking a look at inflation as one metric, after the implementation of tariffs, inflation wavered down a bit in 2018, up a bit in 2019, and down a bit in 2020.  It didn't make a noticeable increase until 2021, in the aftermath of the pandemic and all of the supply chain challenges it created.

But tariffs aren't the only problem with trade with China.  Almost all industry in China is either state-owned or state-controlled, and all of it is state-subsidized.  So, even if they placed zero tariff on, say, a laptop computer import manufactured by Dell or HP, they'll still subsidize state-controlled Lenovo to the point that it's the cheapest option for Chinese consumers, no matter WHAT the cost.

yeah ok, so this is just patently false and is one of the more stupid things you've ever written, which is pretty astounding because you write A LOT of stupid sh*t.

Israel has been occupying and oppressing the Palestinian people since 1967 and they have been laying siege to Gaza since 2005, they control everything that comes in and out and have gone on campaigns of cutting off power, electricity, shipments of food, medicine- you name it from coming into the Gaza strip. Israel has deliberately tried to punish and starve the people of Gaza time and time again...this isn't anything new.
I don't think you're being very objective.  You act like Gaza has no ports.  As if it doesn't receive tons of international aid.  And the good people there never see any of it.

Stop pretending that you have all the facts and no one else does.  Palestine receives tens of billions of dollars of foreign aid and yet it's people starve.  That's not Israel.  That's Hamas.  They force their own people to suffer from within.

You can pretend Israel is the problem here.  Be my guest.  But don't expect me to drink your slanted Kool-Aid.

Richard snd I were friends in high school.  He is super smart  was a 5 time winner on jeopardy.  He was generally a good guy. But on the extreme left. He has been elected to a couple of statewide office on ohio.  I would never vote for him or approve of him in any government position.  I knew he was one of Obama s recess appointments when became head of the consumer protection agency.  Hadn't heard that he was appointed to Fassa.  He ruly believes that the masses need to be.told what to do and need the government to tell you what to do.

I seriously wonder if people in other countries really care what goes on in Israel, or Gaza, etc.

The more I think about it, I don’t really give a fuck. I think it would be a good idea to just let them sort out their own problems, stop giving aid to all of them.

Yes, Israel has blockaded the Port of Gaza since 2007 as part of a blockade of the Gaza Strip. The blockade has restricted activities at the port to small-scale fishing, while the Oslo II Accord limits the activities of the Palestinian Naval Police to 6 nautical miles from the coast. Israel has claimed full control of Gaza's coastline and territorial waters since 1967, preventing ships from reaching the strip.

The United States has given Israel more than $318 billion in aid since the end of World War II, including about $300 billion in economic and military assistance, and more than $11 billion to the Palestinian territories since 1950. This is more than any other country during that time frame, and around $100 billion more than Egypt, the second-highest recipient.

Amen to this.

But highly unlikely as we are Israel's vassal state.

Egypt and Jordan are on record as saying they will not accept Palestinian refugees. Pretty sure the Saudi's are in the same camp.
the population of Jordan is already somewhere in the ballpark of 60% Palestinian refugees. Why should any of those countries have to take in Palestinian refugees? hey here's a novel idea, maybe end the war and the occupation and allow the Palestinians to have their own state?

Israel's wet dream would be for Egypt or Jordan to just take all the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank so they could just annex all of the territory into a Greater Israel and prevent a two state solution from ever happening. That has been the stated goal of Netanyahu's Likud party...who wait for it...are the ones who popularized the term "from the river to the sea" in the 1970's- except their version went something like "from the river to the sea, there will be only Israeli sovereignty". Netanyahu has been railing against a two state solution since he got involved in politics in the '70s. You can watch YouTube videos of him in speeches and debates saying their will never be a two state solution dating all the way back to the '70s. He's an evil c*cksucker and there isn't a fire hot enough in hell for him.

Egypt and Jordan won't take in refugees because of this fact, they know if they take in millions of refugees the chance of a Palestinian statehood will effectively be over, and those refugees will be denied the right to return to their homelands in Palestine in the future, just like the millions of Palestinian refugees who fled in the past have been denied the right of return.

That’s OK badge. It is now been revealed that Biden plans to allow Palestinian refugees into the United States.  You know, the people that brainwashed their children from the earliest of ages to hate Jews and Americans and “intifada” against the Jews.

The ones who use hammers and other tools to break windows and doors and occupy college campuses last night while shouting “from the river to the sea”    But the video of them shouting “death to Jews“ and annihilate Israel It’s just propaganda, right?
you act like every person in Gaza and the West Bank are card carrying members of Hamas or that they support Hamas. Hint: they aren't, and they don't. Majority of the population of Gaza and the West Bank are children. They are the ones suffering most in all of this.

And to be frank with you, the US should bear the responsibility for the suffering of those people. Israel would flat out not be able to have carried on a 60 years long occupation, continual brutality, land annexation, settlement expansion, and general milieu of death and destruction without the US full-stop backing and support. The US is DIRECTLY complicit in Israel's crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people. We ought to try to do something to help out....

I saw that. It's disgusting. Their fellow Arabs won't take them but now "we" will? Anything to buy future votes.
Jordan and Egypt have already taken millions of Palestinian refugees over the decades. have even a slightest clue why Jordan or Egypt won't take them now?

And US is directly responsible and complicit in their death and destruction because of our insane full-stop backing of Israel. Israel doesn't have the diplomatic pull to provide cover for itself or UN veto power to block any resolutions, condemnations, or ceasefires. We do. And we use that power all the time for them. Israel doesn't manufacture F-35 jets, reaper drones, or 2,000 pound guided munitions. And not only do they not manufacture any of that sh*t...they don't even have to buy it from us, we f**king GIVE IT TO THEM FOR FREE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE US TAXPAYER. We ought to help out where we can...we owe them that much.
