I have no inherent issue with lab grown meat in terms of eating it.  My issue really is cost.  You can grow meat cells as a culture, fine, but the protein and other ingredients have to come from somewhere.  And all that is very expensive today.    So, how do you get protein efficiently and cost effectively?

It's a "lab" thing literally, today.
you may have spent too much time in a lab :)

IMHO the problem with lab grown meat would be texture, not flavor. You *might* be able to work around that somewhat for a ground beef substitute if you can also grow fat cells in there with it, but I don't know how you're ever going to get the texture of a ribeye or NY strip out of lab grown meat.

But like you, I think the bigger issue is the cost to scale up the production to meaningful levels. If it's impossible to be anywhere near cost-competitive with real meat, it's a non-starter.

A.  Regular meat.

B. Plant based meat.  Most of us have tried this.  Some may like it.  Many don't.

C.  "Lab grown" or cultured meat.  Not at all available anywhere, and won't be if ever for years.  No reason to ban it I can discern, or worry about it.

I moved this here @Mdot21

well yeah sure, that tends to happen when you stretch yourself thin and give away bunch of your munition stockpiles in a proxy war and can't reproduce new ones fast enough.

having said that, US certainly still has a significantly stronger, more advanced, more capable military than China and just about the entire world combined lol.

Tell me. When was the last time is the US actually won a war.?

tell me when was the last time the US actually fought a war that was justified and wasn't complete and utter horsesh*t based off nothing but a pack of lies. probably that one.

we're really good at running through a foreign countries military like a hot knife through butter in a conventional war. not so good at playing occupier and trying to install puppet governments and imposing our way of life on countries thousands of miles away from ours that don't want it. no one is though. pretty much impossible for any military to occupy a population that doesn't want them there to begin with.

I should have done that when I got my wife a pendant necklace... I swapped to lab grown when I bought her earrings, though. They look fantastic and were WAY less expensive for the quality level.

I can't really comment on the taste though.

diamonds aren't that rare, shouldn't cost what they do. pretty awesome marketing campaign + impressive shenanigans by a worldwide diamond cartel to artificially control demand and supply. pretty god damn impressive actually. have to hand it to em.

Mike Tyson who is nearly 60 years old is fighting a 20-something YouTuber Paul brother in a boxing match live on Netflix at the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

Make it make sense. Massive cash grab and it astounds me that this has even become a thing...YouTubers fighting ex-pro UFC fighters and boxers that are way past their primes and over the hill.
I've been reading about Tyson. So many see he threw the hardest punch ever for a boxer.

I'll bet they never saw Ernie Shavers.

I used to think that, too.  But they work their way down under intense pressure for a billion years and only rise back up near the surface in specific cones sprinkled around the world.
