I was driving a minivan for years. They were quite functional, and boring. The good news is my wife says she really really likes the Tuscon. I like it "OK", it's certainly not very exciting, but boring can be OK for long drives, and it's much quieter than I expected.
And it has a lot of features, some of which I'll never use. A couple nice to have are memory driver's seat and cooled seats and a power rear tailgate that opens handsfree if you need that. The height is also adjustable which is a nice feature so it doesn't clunk off the ceiling. She wanted the ventilated seats. We had them in the CTS but I couldn't tell they were on, these in the new car are pretty noticeable.
The steering is pretty numb, which is predictable. Handling and acceleration are in the adequate range.
