Minnesota football made a notable change to its future football schedule. The Golden Gophers announced the team's future matchup at the Cal Golden Bears will now be played in 2025. As a result, Minnesota's matchup at BYU scheduled for 2025 is canceled.
“As a result of this schedule change, Minnesota will no longer play at BYU on Sept. 20, 2025,” Minnesota said in its announcement. “The Gophers were scheduled to host BYU in 2020, but that game was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Minnesota and BYU do not have any future games scheduled.”
The Golden Gophers still have non-conference clashes with some major programs in the coming years. Minnesota will play Colorado, North Carolina, Cal, and Mississippi State between now and 2027.
