Yeah, I need to start reading again... Was reading tons during all the lockdowns, but that sorta fell off during football and college basketball season and with playing a lot more golf.

I'll grab the Kindle versions on Amazon--I rarely read paper books any more.

Agree with you on friends/relatives. I get the same thing when they taste my beer. "Oh, it's great!" I have to take to my homebrew buddies if I want real critique.

Yeah, I've learned not to honestly critique anything that someone is proud of/worked hard on.

They will ask for criticism like they really want it, then react as though kicked in the groin if it is anything short of glowing praise.

Anyone have experience with a Theragun or other percussive massage guns?

My wife gets huge knots in her upper back from sitting in an office chair all day, and I feel like my body is more knot than muscle at this point. I can usually work hers out, but she doesn't have enough hand strength to really effectively work on me.

Been thinking about one of these for a while, and wondering if anyone has used them. Looks like there are a lot of "off brand" versions at Amazon, so can get into this without paying hundreds and hundreds for the Theragun.

Forget the sissy ass wand, go getcha one of these massage belts by TruMedic. About 100 bucks, give or take. You can adjust the pressure by tugging with your arms. You can really dig down deep if you want to. You can do your legs, or lay down and go up and down your entire back.

You'll thank me later.

That's usually the case, but if you know someone is truly trying to hone a craft, they are the type that appreciate honesty.

Yeah, that's me, I need the criticism, it's a favor to me. I'm not looking for "I loved it!". I can't improve my writing if I don't get another perspective, like the very useful note to introduce more conflict, which I've learned is hard to do for some reason. I keep thinking about how to do it, but one critic told me the book read well but was like a "travel log", somebody hereabouts in fact. I took that to heart, because it was spot on. You need conflict of a sort to resolve later to keep a reader interested.

If any of you are ever interested in self publishing, the Amazon/Kindle thing works well, you get a paperback for about $4 each of your own design. They look good, I think, though mine could look better, I didn't want a copyright issue on the cover photo. You could write your family history, or an autobiography, whatever. Usually you need about 50,000 words. Fortunately I type fast.

The beer thing reminded me of my wine classes back in the day (since taken over by a protege). A thing I hate is folks who try and come up with more obscure terms to describe a wine so they sound like they know something.

You know the best wines I have ever had? They lack some pronounced taste feature. They are BALANCED, in CHARACTER, and really good. And that's about all I can say about them, and I think all that needs to be said.

In character means a Chablis that tastes like the quintessential Chablis. Chablis is a small area in northern France where an outcropping of limestone happened to be near the surface. (Kimmerridgian). They can only grow chardonnay, and the best ones are exquisite. Technically, it's part of Burgundy. But I digress.

Im trying to get my 2001 Buick Regal safety inspection they say the cars computer has to be reset from when I replaced a battery and the power was cut off

anyway they said to go out and drive the car 40 to 60 miles and it should reset

Ive driven the car close to 80 miles and the computer still has not reset

anyone have any suggestions

the check engine light is not on so I have no reason to think the chip has gone bad
