The timelines blur, but after cnnsi we had several boards over the years. For some reason I never posted on CFB news, but wingy ran one of the boards for years. 

as I recall, he was a major apple enthusiast. He would be happy to know how apple retook their position as one of the top tech companies of the last several decades.

So, my open-heart surgery is on Tuesday, but the hospital wants me there at 10:30 AM tomorrow. I guess they want me to have another day of hospital food and bad sleep???

I've never heard of this practice, and I have no idea what they are going to do to me for a whole day.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

I'd guess they want to monitor you 24/7 and ensure you don't eat or drink anything preanathesia.  Standard practice I'd guess.

I can eat up until midnight the day prior. Then after that, nothing on the day of surgery and only liquids the next day. They expect me to be out after three days as I am otherwise healthy and relatively young. 

Then the very long recovery starts. My surgeon filled out my disability form for up to 12 weeks out of work. I'm guessing more like 6-8 weeks.

My step grandson had open heart surgery when he was 9 to correct some congenital blood vessels going the wrong way.  They waited until he passed a certain weight.  He came through just fine and is feeling a lot better now.

I confess I have zero knowledge of Syria, Assad, or anything associated with that affair. Not sure it be proud, of that, sad, or indifferent. 

I’m not really sure if we (US) are for Assad or the rebels. Trump said we should stay out of it.

Assad was a nasty fellow, no doubt, one of several around the world.  The rebels wanted him out obviously, but the rebels are not some unified group beyond that.  I fully expect the fighting to go on, rebel against rebel against rebel, maybe another strong man type wins out and takes over, meet the new boss.
