Three things I do like about what the Trump Admin says they will do:

1.  All workers return to the office.
2.  End Pharma ads on TV.
3.  Make some concerted effort to cut waste in government, at least in theory.  They may bungle it but I wish them well.

It could get worse for Syrians if some new despot tries to take revenge.  I'm sure any Assad supporter who can leave did leave.  I don't have a clue how this plays out relative to its neighbors.  Rebel groups often are fragmented with multiple interests and goals, and the civil war could well continue with factions vying for power.
