Women make up 65.4% of IRS employees, which is higher than the average of 48.1% for the civilian workforce.

What's the carbon footprint of a wind turbine? » Yale Climate Connections

There is a lot of propaganda of dubious technical merit on "both sides".

In fact, it’s possible to calculate a carbon “payback” time for a wind turbine: the length of time it takes a turbine to produce enough clean electricity to make up for the carbon pollution generated during manufacture. One study put that payback time at seven months — not bad considering the typical 20- to 25-year lifespan of a wind turbine.

That whole segment was really weird, and unnecessary, and full of bullshit.

Tommy says the wind turbines are there to power the pump jacks, when clearly it's enough wind power to power an entire city/town.  I'd wager that the average pump jack only consumes a few HP of power, like maybe 5-20 HP.  One turbine could provide enough power to run a whole field of pump jacks.

Watching him try to close that valve with a pipe wrench was funny, he wasn't even going the right way, and he was doing it wrong.

But we do enjoy the show.

What about the carbon footprint for the maintenance of the turbine.  BTW I do not think that climate change is mainly man caused, but just the natural changes that have happened and will conti nue to happen through time with a minor contribution by man's activities so personally I don't care one way or another.

An average 100 horsepower jumpjack uses around 9,960 kilowatt hours a month, at eight cents a kilowatt hour that's almost $800 a month for a single pumpjack.

What about the carbon footprint for the maintenance of the turbine.
Having been involved with building wind farms, I can tell you that a TON of energy goes into building one. We widened all the roads to accommodate the massive trucks that are needed to move the turbines and blades. Also had to build access roads to the actual placement sites. Lots of poor soils undercut and backfilled with stone. And then the many miles of buried transmission lines to get the power to the grid. It's astonishing. Seven months? No way.

Don't forget the carbon emissions those engineers put into the air driving to class each day for years a decade before having their current job!!!!!

No doubt it takes a lot of energy to build an operating wind turbine, and maybe the "payback" is a year or longer, I suspect it's not 20 years or more.

One issue I have is derelict wind turbines like one sees commonly in older wind farms in CA.

I don't think the video should be taken as "Gospel", at all, nor should some of the other videos out there, or memes.

Landman (TV series) - Wikipedia

Landman is set within the world of oil rigs in West Texas, where "roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics."[1] The lead character, Tommy Norris, can be abrasive, as is the out-of-town lawyer investigating a fatal accident early in the season.[2]

I think MOST "information" derived from memes, TV shows, and movies is misleading or false.
