It's like that in a lot of sports.

Gymnastics, for example. It's sick.
Oh yeah, I'm not saying baseball is the only one.  It just happened to be the sport being discussed.  The Texas team was being singled out but I don't find any of the teams/coaches/leagues/players/parents involved in elite level youth baseball to be palatable.

I had no idea that version of little league existed.  so are you saying I could no longer register my son for little league or for what we used to call little league tryouts?

and I dont know why the term "traveling" is used in connection  with  little league

no problem I'll just live in my make believe world which looks like is a much happier place

then reality

No there is still "Recreational League" baseball  available.  My kids participated on those for soccer and we all had a lot of fun.

But the elite teams that you're watching on ESPN, those aren't rec league teams.  They're pay-to-play teams that cost in the tens of thousands of dollars per year to participate in.  They're called "select" because you have to audition for them (and pay them a bunch of money), and they're also referred to as "travel" because they tend not to play much locally, rather they ago around the state and out of state to play in Select Tournaments, pretty much non-stop.  It's all a racket and is nothing like the fun "Little Leagues" of our youth.

I was absolutely laughing at Jon Stewart describing Donald Trump's, uh, misremembrance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VW6tHIcGfc
no one is perfect, but even an out of touch Jon Stewart in his advanced age is significantly better than any one out there in the political satire game. still. gotta say it's impressive.

Trump really is trying his best to blow what should be a lay up by not just sticking to the message of economy, inflation, immigration. Guy can't help himself but to get into dumb shit that doesn't matter to voters like questioning her race or if her photo ops are AI. Just makes him look like a clown doing so.

The guy really can't help himself. She should be the easiest candidate in the history of a political race to defeat- she's easily one of the top 3 most unimpressive people to ever win a Democratic presidential nomination- and actually she didn't even win it- it was just handed to her- and he's tripping all over himself and it's a real fight.

He's certainly not a lefty, but he's not a conservative.

Conservatives are like Ron D.

Trump is not that. He's more like Bill Clinton if you think about it. Just not as slick and polished.
Trump used to be a Democrat. Trump is not an ideologue. He's not a true believer of any cause. He can be swayed on almost anything. That can be a good thing. But it can also be a bad thing. His instincts were often right on many issues when he was in the white house and many times he'd let advisors pull a fast one on him and roll him and he'd switch course. you saw this time and time again when it came to foreign policy matters.

Clinton is not a terrible comparison, and as you said he's definitely nowhere near as slick or polished as that guy was- but few are.

Would have been smarter, then, to say that it was a great city 20 years ago, when they both came into office, not 5 years into their terms, and only 2 years before they both moved on to different offices. Instead he basically said that after he was mayor and she was DA for a full 5 years, it was a great city.

Although what I find most funny about it is a "conservative" praising the San Francisco of 15 years ago. Pretty much my entire life I've never heard this nation's conservatives saying anything nice about SF. Well back into the 90s I've heard complaints that liberals were going to try to make the rest of the country like San Francisco, and that was NOT a compliment to SF at the time.
it's Donald Trump and he's speaking off the cuff shooting from the hip. You really think he's going to get that specific? Lol. His general point was that Newsom and Ka-hahaha Harris are genuinely terrible and wrecked San Fransisco- and that general point likely landed with his voters and with some of the independents he's trying to sway.

Donald Trump used to be a Democrat, he's a sleazy Manhattan real estate developer (they all are sleazy), former reality tv star, he bangs pornstars, playmates, strippers, and hoes- he's been married and divorced 3 times, has I think 4 baby mamas and 6 or 7 kids. Probably never went to church a day in his life before he actually ran for President. He ain't a conservative.

Oh and San Fransisco has long been a raging dumpster fire. I blame the awful Democrats who have held power there for like oh-ever- it's not just Newsom or Ka-hahaha- and also the tech weirdo pussies for that. Those beta male cuck nerds were never meant to have that much power or money- it goes against the natural order of things. That kind of power and money traditionally was only amassed by type A, alpha male macho risk taking men with giant nutsacks. The whole Silicon Valley thing just goes against human nature- these are not the type of people who should have that kind of power or wealth. We are in uncharted territory in human history.

Antonio Brown is one of the greatest NFL WR's in history. He also just might have one of the most hilarious twitter accounts in history.

It is like the parties are trying to lose.  I honestly think that DeSantis would have a near double-digit lead right now if he were the R nominee and if there had been a Democratic Primary I am near certain that Harris wouldn't have won and the Democratic winner of that primary would have a much more secure lead right now over Trump.
I don't think so. He's too conservative for the masses.

He's been great here, as evidenced by how many people are moving here.

There are some things Ron has done that I just don't like. But the good so far outweighs the bad it's not even close.

He'd get my vote for sure, over Trump or Cruz or Haley or whoever. I'd have to think long and hard about Youngkin and the ND governor. Noem shot herself (her dog) in the foot. Vivek was interesting.

don't think that its he's too conservative for the masses. probably has much more to do with his total lack of personality or charisma. and that matters when running for president. a lot. overall a very good governor though and definitely a better choice than wholly unimpressive party hacks like Ted Cruz or Nikki Haley.

What do you think of Marco Rubio? He's from Miami, son of Cuban immigrants and all that.

Dude has some big ears, but not the biggest in the Senate.

But like the old dems said about JFK I'll say about slick willie the economy was fantastic. So i didn't care who he was screwing he wasn't screwing the working class

I think Trump has clowned on DeSantis so much over the past 8 years that nobody, inside or outside the party, is going to touch him.  He's damaged goods.  Which was exactly Trump's intention.  It's good for him, and bad for the Republican party.  Which he's fine with.

If DeSantis gets a Cabinet position, which is in play, a lot of that goes away.

Yeah, we lose a Governor, which sucks. But I think this guy would do a good job at it.

That or maybe the Miami Mayor.
