He also reported that it was the Americans who took out the Nord Stream pipeline, the appearance of ocean front property in Arizona, and that it was over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. So be careful of what he's reporting nowadays.

Trump already had the scared, heavily armed, and loudmouthed white demographic locked up. Picking Vance was just running up the score here. Even before the change, this pick wasn't going to do anything to

Vance and Trump are utterly unable to couch their disdain for women.

And then, the change. The pick of Harris has caught the Republicans completely flatfooted. They've been utterly unable to change from an old man as the opponent. It's almost as if the concept of voluntarily handing over power is antithetical to the Republican way of being.

I don't know if Harris is going to win. There is a long way to go and not much time to get there. But the last time there was this much energy in the Democratic base was late in the evening of January 3, 2008. That's when Barack Obama beat Hillary in the Iowa caucus, and we know how that ended.

Also, I'm now convinced that our governor will be the running mate.

Seriously - put that thing out - you'll burn your fingers
Obama would smack you for that comparison they're both Dems and that's all they have in common. That was the last vote I made for a major party. But the masses can only stand, stare and remark 100,000 sperm and Kamala's were the fastest?

Perhaps, but the energy level is still there and hasn't been seen since the winter/spring of 2008. That comparison I'll stand by. No one was excited for Hillary, and Biden was the best of an unexciting lot.

My football analogy from earlier still stands. The Democrats played a hideous first half, yet somehow managed to only be down 10 at the break getting the 2H kickoff. First play of 3Q, they run play action, the entire GOP back 7 bites hard on the fake, and the post man makes the catch in stride for a 75-yard TD. Game on.

This thread is evidence that some of you have a blind spot.
First, the key to the football analogy is Trump only having a small lead vs Biden.  Even a totally banal, unremarkable NORMAL candidate would have had an insurmountable lead.  But not Trump.  His obvious flaws are so damning, he can't win in a walk vs anybody.
But the more revealing thing here is the utter disdain for Harris, who one could fairly label as...unremarkable.  Yet she gets the full-press insult + hatred treatment here.  She could be a quality person, have an impressive record, etc - but it wouldn't matter.  Some of you are fully incapable of being anything remotely close to objective.  See target, attack.  For how vehemently claim not to watch FN, you sure sound like you got the same script as their talking heads.

If you feel compelled to hate on someone no matter what they do or say, look in the mirror.
I hear 2 over-arching critiques of her:
she's done nothing
she's the worst

Uhhh, it can't be both, guys.  Jesus christ.

What I've seen to date of Harris is unimpressive.  When pressed on a question, she laughs, or dissembles, or spews word salad.

Five questions facing Kamala Harris as her ‘honeymoon period’ ends (thehill.com)

She is going to try and recant some of her earlier positions, like on fracking, to sound more centrist.  It'll probably work, some, with folks leaning liberal, and maybe some in the middle.

I'm interested in seeing if she can hold up when asked tough questions.

Well your are right about one part of this post.  That idiot Trump only had a moderate lead. Understandable considering his shortcomings.
that is why the pollsters  always say he has a high floor and a low ceiling.

But you are way off the mark on her. The criticisms of her are very, very specific. They are based on policy. They are based on the things that she has voted on, the positions she has taken, the statements that she has made publicly, and lastly, Her inability to speak without tossing a word salad.  She is VERY VERY left.

Her positions and beliefs are well documented and public, and have been listed here in this thread numerous times.

Since both candidates are horribly flawed there are voters doing something weird:  thinking about policy.  Things like the border problem, crime, the economy, the Green new deal, abortion, immigration, etc.  How dare they.
I do watch FN clips in the am, and CNN- as it relates to politics.  All FOX is doing is reminding people of who she is from a policy standpoint, by actually showing clips of her taking her stances. They don’t even have to point out the obvious fact that her campaign is blatantly avoiding the majority of those stances, or even lying about them.  Why is that?  Trump is a bumbling bombastic, egotistical jackass.  But nobody is confused about what his policies are or would be. He is running on what he believes in what he has always believed in.

It cracks me up when you and others ( several people her) Try to paint anyone that doesn’t support her as some hillbilly, white person with AK-47 hiding in the hills.

You just can’t accept a different point of view on the issues. Why don’t you just stick to telling us where you stand on abortion, immigration, soft on crime or hard on crime, taxation, the new deal, etc. etc. etc..

I absolutely respect that MANY don’t feel the same as me on those issues.  I don’t respect you coming here and insulting anyone who doesn’t support your candidate, and lumping them into some completely inaccurate negative stereotypical group. That’s you, Sam, Gooher and Bert, and it’s BS.

That "Green New Deal" thing was just a "resolution", which has about as much force as renaming a post office.  It was a silly nothing, optics with no substance.

It was stupid optics also, so stupid it got zero votes in the Senate.  Zero.

Senate shuns Green New Deal amid claims of bad faith | AP News

This was more evidence there is no plan, no conceivable plan, no nothing but throwing some money at it and, well, claiming victory.
