I get that.

But why did God have to become human and die to save us from... God?
There are 7 basic theories on why and what is the atonement.  Do a search and you can find a summary of each.  Some are heretical (in my opinion) and some are accepted and/or rejected by different denominations.  A correct understanding is not necessary for salvation.

While you go hide under an Oak? I think he's right - makes absolutely no sense. But Jesus the prophet is pretty interesting and makes many compelling points in "The Sermon on the Mount". But never know who changed what back when.Very few could read or right so when the Church of Rome scribes in 325 AD took  ancient Jewish scrolls(old & new testament) and switched the text to book form(Bible) starting in 325 at Nicea and St Jerome starting finishing it in 382-405 AD translating both Greek and Hebrew into Latin

What could possibly be lost in the process?
Can say much for the latin vulgate, but i have a b.a. in biblical literature with an emphasis in languages (biblical hebrew, mishnaic hebrew, koine greek, classical greek, aramaic, syriac, ugaritic).  The texts we have in the original languages are very accruate and consistent in comparison to their contempory documents. The various translations into english have their pluses and minuses but in general most are at least adequate on their translation.

Btw i have been out of that academic environment for 30 years, so i am not up to date on latest scholarship and very rusty with the languages.

I don't believe any actual evidence for a god has occurred it the past 30 years, so you're good.

I always preferred A1 to 57, but haven't had a bottle of either in my fridge for years
I should get a bottle of A1
I usually put spicy BBQ sauce on my burgers or hot sauce

A1 for Filet.   57 or Peter Lugers for other cuts.

I like Bearnaise sauce on some steaks, like filet or flat iron. Blue Cheese is also a good sauce for those cuts.

A1 is good for ribeye (well-done), flank, and strips.

I like steak sauce but never seem to have any around. I do buy the Kroger brand when making BBQ sauce, mostly because it's cheaper.
