Norm actually tried to do a sports type Daily Show, and I love Norm, but it just didn't work. Sports are so compartmentalized, that it's hard to appeal to the room. And ultimately, it's sort of hard to satirize, because ultimately who cares? You can get a lot of material from satirizing the news, because everyone is aware, and it works because it matters. If Connor Stallions is guilty of the absolute most he's accused of, it just means Michigan cheated at a game, it's not actually serious at all.
