Baton Rouge is a great place for a gameday. Some good restaurants too.

still holding out hope that I can make at least one away game this year - would be great if it would be the bowl game, but not counting on it.  Someday....

WVU and Pitt on 9/13.  A buddy of mine bought season tickets and has been telling me for months I’m going to this game with him.  So, unless something changes I’m planning on it.

Should be fun. Rod returns against the last team he coached against at WVU, and the loss that led to a lot of dominoes falling across college football.  The irony of the loss being 13-9 (that’s how that game is referred to by WVU fans) and the game being on 9-13 isn’t lost on anyone.

Zero for me, barring some change in something.  I mentioned the UGA-Tech game is now in the NFL venue, which I think detracts from the experience overall.  Ticket prices are too high IMHO.

Then with everything else changing in CFB my interest is ebbing, but I am sure to be barking at the TV a few times this season.

Going to all Gopher home games save one, but not sure yet which one.

Going to @SFBadger96 's home turf in NorCal for the weekend of Sept 13 for Gophers @ Cal.

Also, heading to the friendly confines of Wrigley on November 20 for Gophers v. Northwestern. That could be fun.

I am debating if I should attend Iowa's game at USC played in historic Los Angrles Memorial Colosuem on Nov 15  My 8 year wants to go to Super Nintendo world.  I figure we can kill 2 birds in one trip to LA.  Although if we go in mid-November the kid would have to miss school.

I screwed up my knee in September 2024. I had a friend coming up from Florida to go to the Wisconsin @ Iowa game with me.

I did a lot of work to rehab my knee, and finally the week before the game I could finally walk a mile or more.

Mobility issues are distressing. In the end, my issues were transitory; I was not immobile, and we had a great football weekend! Like you, I was trying to decide if we should do remote tailgating and take a bus, or tailgate closer (within a mile), and walk. We tailgated closer with friends, and I was able to walk.

I used to think it was bad for a kid to travel for a vacation and miss school. My dad said it is educational. I think he is right.

When my daughter was a freshman in high school we went to Tucson for Iowa @ Arizona in 2010. The majority of my family of origin migrated from Iowa to Tuscon.

We live in a county seat town in Iowa of 5,000. At the Hawkeye Huddle in Tucson, the night before the game, there was a teacher from our daughter's school. My daughter tried to make herself look small so the teacher would not see that she was skipping school. Well, the teacher was skipping school -- so what?

Travel -- if not excessive -- is one of the best educational opportunities you can give your children -- they learn there is an outside world that goes beyond Iowa, and they can choose.
