Colorado State (0-1, 0-0) at #8 Michigan (1-0, 0-0) Post Game

McCarthy looked better than McNamara yesterday.  JJ has a golden opportunity to take the starting job when he starts next Saturday.  However, if he tries to run like he did against Big Ten opponents he’ll not make it through the season uninjured.

Yeah, Cade played like shit vs a bad opponent. Not a great sign. For him.

As far as JJ goes, well JJ ran on B1G opponents last year. I’d say doesn’t matter who the opponent- a QB running too much is NOT good. He’s going to take way more hits than he should and he’s going to get hurt.

If JJ can run just 3-4 times a game to make the defense have to respect his legs- that’s more than enough.

JJ isn’t a running QB. Dude has a great arm with accuracy and touch. He’s a passer first who happens to be very athletic.

Not only did he look bad, but he acted like a kid that didn’t get his way. Looked nothing like a leader yesterday. His responses earlier in the week in the press conference were also poor. I understand disappointment,  but nothing about his actions this week tell me he’s the guy.

Didn't his teammates vote him captain?

Yes, they did. Similar situation to Brady when he was a captain and battling Henson, and even when Brady was going through it with Henson, he never acted like a little entitled cry baby pussy the way Cade is. And Cade isn’t even as good as Brady was then. Not that Brady was like amazing in college at that point- he wasn’t- but he was still better than Cade.

Cade played like absolute horseshit vs a freaking tomato can. He should stfu and say I’m embarrassed of my play vs such a dog shit opponent- not cry about being unhappy.

Cade didn’t lead Michigan to jack shit last year. He was along for the ride. Once again his COMBINED stat totals vs OSU, Iowa, & UGA = 434 Yards passing, 1 TD and 4 INT. Kid is nothing more than a mediocre game manager with middling talent. BYE FELICIA.

Yeah, I'm not saying he deserves the job, just that I think he is well respected in the locker room.

McNamara, the first QB to beat Ohio State since Denard,  is well respected to say the least.  But he needs to earn the starting job same as McCarthy.  Its not a popularity contest.  If McCarthy plays better than McNamara this Saturday he’ll likely start the following week.  But I don’t think the competition is over.

Moderately concerned about the injuries to LT Hayes and OG Keegan.  Hope they heal up before the Big Ten  schedule starts.

I was very surprised to see grad transfer DE Eyabi Anoma in the game considering he didn’t show up on campus until halfway through camp.  A sack and another tackle is not bad for a first showing.

Yes, yes. Such a thing would be bad.

The locker room is not a nonfactor, I think anyway.  If the team really doesn't like the choice it's not going to work well.

Very true. But the team just wants to win at the end of the day. If JJ gives them the best chance to win- they really won’t care about Cade and his “leadership” or how swell of a fellow they think he is.

Those players have eye balls. They can see one guy is significantly more talented and gives them a WAY better chance to score points and ultimately win- makes their offense way more dangerous and explosive- and that’s JJ. Even a f*kn blind man can see that.

Yeah, it is bad. He’s acting like a spoiled entitled little prick bc he’s a “big ten championship winning qb” wah wah wah. Again- he didn’t win JACKSHIT. Name me one game where he was a factor in winning? You can’t. Mr. Game Manager was just along for the ride.

McNamara played like dog shit vs Ohio State. Do you forget the red zone pick he threw in that game? McNamara didn’t do fk all to beat Ohio State. Aidan Hutchinson and Michigan front 7 getting serious heat all game long on Stroud and then Michigan OL and Hassan Haskins dominating OSU up front won them that game. Cade just didn’t make too many mistakes to lose it. That’s literally all he did. And if he didn’t throw that pick in the red zone and miss so many down field shots bc his arm is a wet fkn noodle- Michigan would have won by more.

Hayes and Keegan should be fine.

Anoma was a 5* and top 3 player in his class for a reason. Freakish athlete. And McGregor was a 5* before a gnarly injury which caused him to miss his entire sr year- and he still finished as a top 100 recruit. Call me cray cray but I think by end of the year- both these guys will be big time contributors and set themselves up for monster years in 2023. Big believer  in TALENT- and both these guys have it in spades.

I see I'll have to be more direct.

The thing you're saying is bad is basically your entire posting style. Entitled, spoiled, wah wah wah all the time.

If caterwauling about being unhappy is something you don't want to hear, maybe others don't want to hear it
either.

They did and he’s well liked, but well liked doesn’t mean best for the job nor does it mean best leader.
