That strikes me as a bit ticky tack.  He repaid it.  A one game suspension should be sufficient IMHO.

There is a rule regarding payback and avoiding suspension if its under a certain amount.  Two years ago it came out that Miles Bridges' parents had dinner with a family friend who was also a corrupt agent.  I think Bridges had to pay back the cost of the meal and then he was maybe suspended one game?  Maybe not at all?  I don't remember, but I do recall the threshold being pretty low, like under $200.

Ya Ha-Ha Clinton Dix got 2 games for something similiar a few years back.Have to wait and see how things shake out.If it is flagrant ya got to run him,not sure if this had already looked into.Kind of a nut punch to respectability though,if it was a loan,that's one thing,anything egregious - good luck in the NFL,next man up

Suspended for UMD and RU, back for PSU and TTUN.
It still has major consequences for him personally. He had a legitimate chance to be the first defensive player in more than 20 years and second ever to win the Heisman, not anymore.

Ya but that ship sailed on the character part that the award was suppose to embody when they gave it to Cam Newton,Johnny Manziel,Jameis Winston,Baker Mayfield - all with skeletons/issues

I don't think it's the character thing as how high the performance bar is for a defensive player, and now he's likely missing at least 2 games.

Exactly.
At a minimum I think he would have needed to set the single season sack record and he can't realistically do that without the UMD and RU games.
