was a question for Marq

I won't be hammered before kick, but I'll have a nice pre-game buzz going

Second week in a row I won't get to see the Iowa game. Last week I followed ESPN game cast, while clutching my chest at a diner in Cheyenne, on the way from Black Hills to CO. This week, it will be radio on the way to Rochester, and on to Lake of the Woods in the morning.

Yes, I set dvr on Friday whether or not I plan to be around.

What's going on at LOTW Iahawk? Something involving a tackle box I hope.

I get the lamb chops from Costco fairly often and grill them with direct heat like a steak.  The wife likes them medium rare to rare (she wants steak blu rare, which is really rare).  They are pretty easy to fix in my experience, only problem is they are a bit thin and you can over cook them.

I think of them as akin to pork chops.  Direct heat about 3-4 minutes a side on charcoal.  Pork chops take longer because they are thicker (in general).  I don't try and do any fancy seasoning.  They taste good with basics IMHO.

I think there are two games between ranked teams today, Clemson at Laville (I expect a Clemson win 38-27) and Tenn at Florida (I expect a Tenn win 19-16, or maybe 6-4 in triple OT hopefully).

Notre Dame at Boston College could get interesting if BC hangs around and pulls one out.

I can't speak to lamb chops. My wife wouldn't go for chops -- the live version is too cute for her.

Came down to the office this a.m.; old downtown building, small town Iowa. I heard scratching in the corner.  Thought: "I'll have to get mouse traps -- damn." Looked back one-half hour later to see a bat crawling around. I turn on the light. It hears me or senses motion, or light, and takes flight.

I am feeling vulnerable. There are no racquetball rackets at the office. Swatting the air with a 3-ring binder proved ineffective. With no handle-hold the binder went flying.

I took a swing with my ungloved open-hand mid-flight. Bats are very vulnerable once on the floor. I hate to destroy wildlife, but I can't have wildlife in my office.

I do my lamb chops on super high heat for about 2-3 minutes per side, and let them rest for about 10 minutes after I rub them with a garlic/rosemary mixture that I grind in the mortar (small processer/grinder would work too)

I rub them in canola oil and lots of salt and pepper before the grilling.

I'm making sliders today. My own blend of short ribs, brisket and skirt steak (1/3 each) that I grind. Gonna serve them with caramelized onions, "big mac" sauce and cheddar cheese on toasted mini-Sheboygan hard rolls.

Went to the farmer's market so also making tomato salad with some rustic bread I picked up, potatoes with rosemary and vinegar and a mushroom medley. Gonna eat good tonight.

I informally did bat patrol in an old theatre my daughter was performing in 10-years ago, when some of the actresses panicked during a break in the production while a bat was taking flight. That one wasn't bad. I took it out with my camera case.
But this had my heart racing after the 3-ring binder left my grip and I was down to hand-to-bat combat; it seemed to be flying at my face.

I use canola oil on steaks, pork chops, almost anything I grill besides burgers and brats
