Martinez is the type of QB, very talented dual-threat, that has given Michigan fits over the decades.  I believe Donovan McNabb was the first to school Michigan in dual threat pain 1998.  The obvious key to the game from Michigan's perspective to limit the amount of damage Martinez dishes out.
You would like to think that Macdonald would know a thing or two about defending mobile QB's after practicing against Lamar Jackson every day.

For Nebraska the game all comes down to can they block Michigan's front 7? If they can't, Michigan will likely win. Martinez will have to bring his absolute A game as well. Martinez is a really good QB, but he's had his bouts with inconsistency and turnovers. If Nebraska can't block Hutchinson & Ojabo and Martinez is running for his life and commits a turnover or two- Michigan might be able to run away with it and start pouring it on. Martinez has to take care of the ball.

Michigan has given up 64 points this season, for an average of 12.8 ppg. However, if you remove three garbage time TD's vs the 2nd and 3rd stringers that all came late in 4th QTR when games were out of hand- 4th QTR TD vs WMU up 47-7, 4th QTR TD vs. NIU up 63-3, and the last minute TD vs. Wisconsin up 38-10- and Michigan's first team defense has only given up 43 points through 5 games for a 8.6 ppg average.

That's not too shabby, no matter the competition you're facing.

Nebraska is playing better but Michigan -3 seems a little tight.

Series History: Nebraska vs. Michigan
Saturday's matchup between Nebraska and Michigan will be the 11th all-time matchup between the two schools, with Michigan owning a 5-4-1 advantage. The teams have split four games since Nebraska joined the Big Ten Conference in 2011.

Saturday's meeting will be Michigan's first visit to Lincoln since 2012, when unranked Nebraska defeated No. 20 Michigan, 23-9, in a prime-time matchup at Memorial Stadium.

This will be just the third meeting between the schools in Lincoln, with schools playing to a tie in a matchup in 1911.

While the schools met just four times in Nebraska's first 10 years in the Big Ten, Nebraska and Michigan are set to meet each year from 2021 to 2025.

Before Nebraska's entry into the Big Ten, the teams played just twice between 1962 and 2011, splitting a pair of bowl matchups. Michigan won 27-23 in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl, while Nebraska earned a four-point win in the 2005 Alamo Bowl.

Husker-Wolverines Tilt Features Two Traditional Powers
Nebraska and Michigan are two of just eight schools in college football history to win 900 or more games, with Michigan ranking first in all-time victories (969) and Nebraska seventh (908).

this is incorrect. Ojabo did the same thing week before in the 4th QTR vs Rutgers.

Harbaugh shares a story about how when they got back from Wisconsin he was in his office unpacking things, and he looks out and sees a trio of true frosh QB JJ McCarthy, RB Donovan Edwards, & WR Andrel Anthony out on the practice field working on routes & hand-off exchanges- working to get better- literally right after getting back from Wisconsin.

Just a matter of time- when not if- JJ McCarthy takes over the QB job from McNamara.

Michigan needs two QBs ready to play given recent history. The last time Michigan played in Lincoln in 2012 Michigan QB Denard Robinson was injured and had to come out of the game.  His backup, who I no longer remember, was not ready.  Devin Gardner stayed at WR.  Still frustrated about that situation.

Russell Bellomy.  IIRC he threw more interceptions than completions

Yeah, he was terrible. But he probably never should've been at Michigan in the first place. He was only there because Hoke screwed the QB recruiting up so bad. Michigan has went on a run of some astonishingly terrible QB's post 2007.

Even through Harbaugh's tenure, by far the best guy he had was a 5th year sr grad transfer Jake Rudock who Iowa didn't want. McNamara is looking like he's probably 2nd or 3rd best right there with Shea Patterson. Rest of them pretty much sucked.

Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson anchors a Michigan defense that is allowing just 12.8 points per game, which is third in the Big Ten Conference and sixth in the nation. Hutchinson, a 6-foot-6, 265-pounder, leads the Wolverines with six tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

“He’s the best defensive player that we’ve seen on tape,” Nebraska offensive coordinator Matt Lubick said Tuesday. “He plays with a great motor and they give him some freedom, but he’s always in the right place at the right time. He chases things down and never takes a play off. He’s explosive, strong and we have to be aware of where he is at all times.”

With an undefeated top-10 opponent coming to Lincoln, the Huskers are hoping that the fans create another raucous environment like the one they did last week against Northwestern.

“I think our guys were fired up last week and I think they’ll be even more juiced up this week,” Chinander said. “The crowd was awesome and the light show was pretty awesome. We talked about it the other day—you have a 6:30 p.m. kick in Memorial Stadium on national television against a ranked team, if you ain’t up for this one, you don’t belong in our room.”
