* Quote of the weekend: Jim Harbaugh, asked Saturday following Michigan's colossal triumph if he has thoughts on trash talking from Ohio State, notably in recent years:

"Some people were born on third and think they hit a triple."

Yep, Harbaugh is back. I sort of missed obnoxious Jim. Sort of.

Pretty mild compared to Day saying he was going to put 100 points on Michigan.

Pretty mild compared to Day saying he was going to put 100 points on Michigan.
Your comparing remarks made in private, to public press comments.  Day has always been gracious and respectful about Harbaugh, Michigan staff and players before and after every game.  Win or lose.

you are also forgetting that those comments about hanging 100 were made in private after Harbaugh falsely accused day of cheating on the big tens conference call with plenty of media there.

It would be like Ohio State fans being upset because Harbaugh said “let’s go kick their ass” and practice or pregame speech.

to the victor go the spoils, so Harbaugh has earned the right to shoot his mouth off and he has taken the opportunity to do so. He has every right.  You just have to ask yourself: is that really what you want to do and is that how you want your coach to sound.

I am a little surprised his anger is directed at the on the field opponent when so many of the voices that have been hitting him have come from his own side of the fence.

I'm all in on the shit talk between the coaches. I would hope that they really don't like each other and want to kick eachothers asses every year. That's how this rivalry should be- but respectful. I think Jim might've crossed the line with the born on 3rd base remark- but he did have a point- Day was handed a Ferrari that had been running roughshod over the B1G by Urban Meyer. I mean Urbs was at Ohio State for what- 7-8 years? I think he lost 9 games total and only 4 in the B1G. That is an insane amount of winning.

Meh.  It’s one sided. Day never has, and likely never will, make a disrespectful remark about Harballs or Michigan. Too smart and too classy.

The comment about third base ignores the fact that Day rebuilt the Ferrari and drove it- in 2017,2018 before taking over in 2019. Reality is he was most responsible for three wins, and one loss.

He did say he was going to hang 100 on em. I think he said that in private and it leaked- so to his credit he does seem smart about the shit talk.

I can get onboard with that. He revolutionized the pass game at Ohio State. Took it to another level that it had never been to before in school history- not even close really. The #'s his QB's have been putting up are off the charts- and he's about to have his 3rd QB go in the 1st after Stroud puts up monster stats in 2022 again and goes in the 1st in 2023 NFL draft.

Yes- it was said to his team and leaked.  And it was in response to a public accusation by Harbaugh. He saw a photo of Al Washington on the practice field with players, 2 days before it was allowed.  What he didn’t know( or forgot) was that before the season was temporarily canceled due to covid, Ohio State was scheduled to open the season on Thursday night v Illinois, 2 days before the other teams were scheduled on Saturday Sept 5th.  So obviously those 2 teams were allowed to start 2 days earlier.

Imagine the douchery of interrupting another coach who is speaking, to falsely accuse them of cheating, on a conference call with all of the other coaches and ADs, and Media.
