I would certainly like to see Hutchinson be at least considered for the Heisman.

It is supposed to go to the best player, not the quarterback on one of the more visible teams.

Stroud and Young were both the front runners going into yesterday. Stroud played well but lost and the Bama quarterback played like shit until two minutes left in the game.

Hutchinson personally altered the big rivalry game yesterday.  I don’t know how much more you can ask.

They do have defensive awards, not as prestigious, and the Heisman is basically an award for the "best looking" offensive back.

I agree this year there is no impressive looking offensive player.

I feel like Michigan has the ability to play with any team including Alabama and Georgia.
Depends on the ebb/flow of rythym and tempo. They play like yesterday absolutely, they play like they did vs Rutgers/MSU NO

They have the ABILiTY, I agree, ABILITY does not always show up on the field.

UGA has the ABILITY to beat Alabama.

Michigan’s win over Ohio State was the #1 goal of the season.  Now what?  The Big Ten Championship game with Iowa seems kind of like a cherry on a cake.  I hope Michigan’s players can refocus quickly, like now.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

THIS,since IA/UM both have scoreboard i have no dog in the fight. But look at MSU after and emotional win over UM.The tOSU after emotional wins over Boilers/Spartans - it definately happens

I think we tend to over think things like emotions and what not. Point blank: winning road games in the B1G is TOUGH. These stadiums hold 80-100k fans and the fans can get LOUD and crazy in these games. Tough environments and hostile crowds are tough to overcome, period.

Styles make fights. And the games always comes down to the match-ups. Michigan State has a horrendous secondary, and they are in for a bad match-up vs teams that can really throw the football. Purdue throws the ball 2nd best out of every team in the league (2nd in pass yards per game and 2nd in TD passes) and has the best single WR in the league- and a guy that should be a 1st rd pick imo. Ohio State throws the ball better than any team in the nation- and has the best trio of WR's in the country- and all 3 of them will be 1st rd picks imo. MSU is a run first team with an elite RB. When they get in a hole to teams that are airing the ball out it takes them out of their game and things can snow ball. That's what you saw in both those games imo. Hard to keep pounding the rock when the other team is up in a flurry because your back-end is swiss cheese.

True.  But…

I firmly believe this when it comes to Team sports:

You can’t manufacture hunger.

It comes from somewhere deep inside, and brews over time.  If you don’t have it in your gut at the start of game week, no coach or self speech can create it.

I am not saying the Buckeyes didn’t want it yesterday- they did in a bad way.  But Michigan unleashed years of hunger.  They were not going to be stopped yesterday. By anyone.  It took years to create that level of focus.  I don’t think anyone could have beaten them in that stadium and those conditions yesterday.

It was quite impressive.

For those who have played- you know how painful it can be to tackle a good player in cold weather.

By the second half I could see OSU players hesitating for just that split second. The Michigan dudes embraced it, looked for it.

Yes but those kids weren't there for yrs neither the coaches save Harbs and his kid,so somewhere in between IMO.tOSU probaly expended too much beating Purdue/MSU after they won big. They were flat for sure and a lot of things factor into that.

Oh I agree 100%.

You also can't manufacture leadership either. What I've seen from Hutchinson this entire year....kid is a leader of men and plays with so much passion and so much edge that it rubs off on all the other players- on both sides of the ball.

Talent is important, but man...leadership is so underrated. It's why guys like Tebow were so incredible in college and why a guy like Brady has been so dominant in the NFL. Getting an entire team to follow you and getting all those players to buy in and raise their games to another level- ain't easy. I don't think coaches can do that. It's got to come from players in that locker room.

Michigan point blank has not had a leader like Hutchinson in a long ass time. Whoever picks him in the NFL draft isn't just getting a phenomenal player- they are getting a great locker room guy who can lead a team.

Said that during the game. Haskins is so damn physical- defenders don't want to tackle him by the 4th QTR. LOVE the way that kid runs. He isn't looking to dance around- he's looking to run right at you and through you. Warrior.

Honestly Nubbz- I don’t think Ohio State was flat at all. I think they were as ready as they could be and thought as hard as they could.  They just weren’t ready for what Michigan unleashed on them and I don’t know if anybody could have been.
