Oh yeah, big nerves. I remember my wife talking about that as she watched our oldest start playing in the competitive club scene.

It's good stuff.  When im coaching the little ones that's the #1 thing, keep cool and never react.  It's often kids first taste of really competing.  The body language is such a tell.  Points come fast and they have to learn to immediately move on to the next no matter the highs and lows.  Let the parents lose their minds in the bleachers.   I also (try) to have the kids ignore the fans and specifically their parents.   So hard, they want approval and or that crutch.  Sometimes I wish they were banned from watching.  They are nervous wrecks.

Texas really looked unstoppable tonight.  Louisville just outmatched.  Looked like we might see a 4th set there, UT transition and block were terrific.    If you've watched UT over the years we all know what the difference makers were....the three little ladies in the back row, primarily Fleck and Halter.   Eggleston undisputed best player in country

Louisville a very worthy #2.   I felt only they or Stanford could take down UT in this field.

Transfer portal huge part of the WVB game.  Skinner now has two Championships w two teams at two positions.    The whole FF had at least 15 portal transfer players.

The Transfer Portal gets credit for that title.

They had like 6 or 7 of them.

Last season, Wisconsin one-upped Nebraska and Creighton by hosting Florida at the Kohl Center to break the NCAA’s regular season single-match attendance record at 16,833.

Nebraska saw Wisconsin’s raise and is countering by going all-in: the Huskers will host Omaha for a match at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August. 30, with a 7 p.m. CT scheduled start time.

Division II in-state schools Nebraska-Kearney and Wayne State will play opening act with an exhibition game at 4:30 p.m., and a concert featuring a performance artist to be named later will follow the Huskers and Mavericks in what the athletic department is calling “Volleyball Day in Nebraska.”

“This is going to be a special day for the sport of volleyball in this state,” Nebraska head coach John Cook said in a release. “At Nebraska we’re always aiming to ‘Dream Big’ and raise the bar, and there can’t be a much bigger way to do that than to play a match outdoors in a 90,000-seat football stadium. We’re excited that we’re going to be able to include three other local schools as well to make it a statewide celebration. A Nebraska volleyball ticket is one of the hardest tickets in town to get, so we’re pumped that this match will give so many more fans an opportunity to come watch us play and be part of a historic day.”

Nebraska and Creighton set a new regular season attendance record at CHI Health Center Omaha early last season before the Badgers and Gators broke it less than two weeks later. Now, Nebraska is planning to raise the bar even further. Nebraska and Wisconsin currently share the all-time attendance record with 18,755 fans at the Final Four in Columbus, Ohio, in 2021.

The Big Ten Network will televise the Nebraska-Omaha match. Tickets — good for both matches plus the concert — will go on sale to Nebraska volleyball season-ticket holders on Tuesday, April 25, and will cost $25 for adults and $5 for children. They will be separate from season-ticket packages. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on April 26.

“This is going to be a fantastic celebration of volleyball in the state of Nebraska,” Nebraska Vice Chancellor, Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said in the release. “Our Husker program has long been a source of pride throughout the state, and we are also proud that the success of Nebraska volleyball has played a large role in the exponential growth of the sport in Nebraska. We know our great fan base will embrace Volleyball Day in Nebraska and turn out in full force for this historic event. Go Big Red!”

Nebraska went 26-6 last season and fell in the Regional Semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament. Omaha went 20-11 last season including 14-4 in Summit League play under Coach Matt Buttermore, who has led the Mavericks to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since making the transition to Division I in 2011.

UNK finished the 2022 season at 28-6 and ranked 15th in the final AVCA Division II Coaches Poll. The Lopers have made 23 straight NCAA Tournaments with national runner-up finishes in 2005 and 2019. Wayne State went 30-3 last season including the program’s first conference title in the NSIC. The Wildcats finished fourth in the final coaches poll.

The Memorial Stadium match will take place during the second week of the season; the Huskers will open play with a home tournament at the Devaney Center Aug. 25-27.

LINCOLN, Neb. (NU Athletic Communications) - The Volleyball Day in Nebraska outdoor event in Memorial Stadium sold out on Thursday morning, the third day tickets were on sale to the public.

Approximately 82,900 tickets were claimed between the season-ticket holder on-sale on Tuesday and the general public on-sale on Wednesday and Thursday. Approximately 17,900 of the tickets were claimed in the season-ticket holder on-sale on Tuesday and the rest on Wednesday and Thursday. That number does not include field-level seating or indoor club seating.

Nebraska will host Omaha at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30 in a regular-season match in Memorial Stadium. As part of a local doubleheader celebrating the impact of volleyball on the state, Nebraska-Kearney will play Wayne State in an exhibition match at 4:30 p.m.

”Nebraska fans never cease to amaze me,” Nebraska Vice Chancellor, Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said. “We knew the interest in this match would be extremely high, but to sell out Memorial Stadium is truly remarkable. I’ve heard lots of talk about breaking the NCAA volleyball attendance record, but given the incredible demand for this event we want to explore every avenue to see if it’s possible to challenge the record for the most attended women’s sporting event in this country. We are truly grateful!”

”There is No Place Like Nebraska. What more can you say?” Nebraska Head Coach John Cook said. “We knew there was a lot of interest in this event based on the reaction we’ve had the last couple of months traveling around the state and the country. But to sell out more than 80,000 tickets already? It’s unreal. Our team was already pumped up about Volleyball Day in Nebraska, but now I can’t even imagine how excited they are going to be for this. It’s epic.”

The record crowd for any NCAA volleyball match is 18,755 when Nebraska played Wisconsin on Dec. 18, 2021, in the NCAA Championship at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The largest NCAA volleyball regular-season crowd is 16,833 when Wisconsin hosted Florida at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., on Sept. 16, 2022.

The largest crowd to attend a women’s sporting event in the USA was 90,185 for the 1999 Women’s World Cup Final between USA and China at Rose Bowl Stadium. That remained as a world record until 91,553 surpassed it when Barcelona played Real Madrid in Spain in a UEFA Women’s Champions League match on March 30, 2022.

Based on years living in Lincoln, during August.
50% chance hot humid and windy.
15% severe weather particularly that 4-6 pm window.

Should be quite the spectacle.  I'd expect higher ace % anticipating wind wreaking havoc with serve receive on floats
