Jimbo has Brian's problems and shares his advantages, as well. Somehow they are immune from removal.
Bit of difference in what they make though. If Brian was cut loose no biggie.Considering Jimbo's buy out A&M may have to cut the other programs - being sarcastic but not by much

All this speculation is fun but I'm sure that Trev Alberts had someone already lined up before firing Frost mid-season. Yes, that was sarcasm.

if you're firing an 8 win coach or a 9 win coach, you better have something better lined up

firing Frost doesn't require that.  Almost anyone is an upgrade

I'd rather have Rhule than Deion or Lane Kiffin

he did well in the NCAA

the NFL is a different animal

ask Urban

did he? Rhule's claim to fame is an 11-3 season at Baylor in a weak Big 12. Rest of his coaching career in the NCAA is pretty MEH. And he was TURRRRBLE in the NFL.

Lane just needed to grow up, he's been humbled and he's grown up. Working with Saban really made him a much better coach. Guy could always coach football, he was just an immature ass clown. Seems to have grown out of that as he's aged. Deion's football IQ, personality, and 'crootin abilities are OFF the charts.

Give me either of those guys twice on Saturday over Matt fkn Rhule. Rhule has Bill Callahan potential for Nebraska. Hiring retread duds rarely if ever works.

Ruhle took Temple to 2 consecutive CCGs and was 11-1 with Baylor in 2019 conference and lost to Oklahoma by 7 in the CCG and lost to Georgia by 12 in the Sugar Bowl.Booger lost to Georgia by 22 last season so he must be trash also - thanx for confirming, sheesh. Saban wasn't exactly tearing it up in the League, either

Let's look at his profile.

Matt Rhule
Age: 47

Hometown: NY, NY

Alma Mater: Penn State University (walk-on LB)

Conference: Last coached at Baylor in the Big 12

Collegiate HC Experience:
Temple University (2013-2016)

2013 (2-10), '14 (6-6), '15 (10-4), '16 (10-3) Overall record (28-23)

Baylor (2017-2019) 2017 (1-11), '18 (7-6), '19 (11-3) Overall record (19-20)

NFL HC Experience:
Carolina Panthers (2020-2022) 2020 (5-11). '21 (5-12) '22 (1-4) Overall record: (11-27) Was fired this fall.

Why he’d be a good pick to coach at Nebraska
Matt took over a Temple program that in the prior 10 years had only three winning seasons. The other seven years, the Owls had records of 0-11 (one), 1-11 (two), 2-10 (one), 2-9 (one), 4-8 (one) and one 5-7 season. Rhule then led the Owls to back-to-back 10-win seasons his last two years at Temple.

His next move was to Baylor University, where he replaced Jim Grobe who had taken over for Art Briles. Briles was fired after his apparent cover-up of a sexual assault scandal that hit the Baylor football program.

Unlike the Owl program, Baylor had enjoyed seven winning seasons out of the prior 10. Will the magic Rhule used to resurrect a moribund Temple team be enough reason for Trev Alberts to hire him as the next Husker head coach?

Nebraska student-athletes continued the Huskers' tradition of being a national leader in the classroom, posting a 95 percent NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for the second straight year. The 95 percent rate ties for the highest in school history and marks the fifth consecutive year the rate has been at 90 percent or higher.

Nebraska remains a leader among its peers in the GSR scores released by the NCAA on Tuesday. Nebraska's 95 percent all student-athlete rate ties for third in the Big Ten and ranks second among 110 public Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institutions. Among all 131 FBS schools, Nebraska's overall 95 percent rate ranks ninth nationally.
