I think "when [you were] a kid" is the key point there, MrNubbz.
OU-Texas was just as important as OU-Nebraska, but very different.

Just saying what was shown/percieved outside of your immediate area.UM-tOSU seemed more like 'Skers-Sooners in the big picture.Where as UT-OU was like UM vs MSU or TOSU -PSU still froth and umbridge but at the time not as much on the line(seemingly)
Suburbia:Where they tear out the trees & then name streets after them.

THIS WEEK IN HUSKER HISTORY

1920: Nebraska's return to the Missouri Valley Conference is delayed by a year because of the Huskers' scheduled game against Rutgers at New York's Polo Grounds. Conference rules require all games to take place on a college campus.
Was this the "Missouri Valley Conference" that later became the Big 6, as opposed to the "Missouri Valley Conference" that became the Missouri Valley Conference?

Well, you never know how rivalries are perceived outside the areas in which they take place.

John Bivens, a heavily recruited 2019 running back from Ohio, is expected to join the Huskers as a walk-on.

Kettering (Ohio) Archbishop Alter standout John Bivens was an unsigned running back prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. He missed his entire senior season of high school in 2018 with an injury, but put up 1,308 yards rushing on 132 carries for 15 total touchdowns as a junior.

Before the injury, Bivens was regarded as one of the top running backs in the state of Ohio. He had Power Five offers from the likes of USC, West Virginia, Louisville, Kentucky, Iowa State, Indiana, Nebraska and Illinois.

He failed to meet all the academic requirements out of high school and did not attend a four-year college this past year.

I was being serious.  Javon was a UM-OSU battle, then tore his ACL and had a bad test score.  Got diagnosed as dyslexic, fixed the test score, MSU still took a gamble on him, ACL injury and all; and you could make the argument he had the best career of any MSU running back ever.  He ranks second in school history (behind Lorenzo White) with 4,398 rushing yards; with his 5.2 ypc being the second highest of any back in the top 20 (with only T.J. Duckett's 3,379 yards on 5.4 ypc being higher).

Oh, obviously I hoping good things for the young man.

be a great story to have him blossom and become a starter

but, I was serious as well.

5 scholarship RBs on the roster - 1 senior, 2 redshirt frosh and 2 incoming freshmen

Bivens will get serious consideration from day 1

great opportunity

Darin graduates!!!

Erstad spent 14 seasons (1996-2009) in Major League Baseball after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 1995 MLB Draft following his junior season at Nebraska. A punter on NU's 1994 national championship football team as well, Erstad was an All-America outfielder and the Big Eight Player of the Year for the baseball team in 1995. A two-time MLB All-Star (1998, 2000) and three-time Gold Glove Award winner (2000, 2002, 2004) with the Anaheim Angels, Erstad was the first player in Major League history to win Gold Gloves in both the outfield and infield. He also led the Angels to the World Series title in 2002. Erstad spent eight seasons (2012-19) as Nebraska's head baseball coach, leading the Big Red to four NCAA Regional appearances and the 2017 Big Ten Conference title. Originally from Jamestown, N.D., Erstad earned his degree as a business administration major.
