“There's going to be an interview at halftime with Coach Osborne, the spirit squad is going to start the Husker power chant, there's going to be a tunnel walk just like we do before every game and a social media component to where fans, if they, take pictures of themselves barbecuing or watching the game or whatever they're doing with the #GBRUnited,” Klassy said. “We're going to show some of those on the digital stream and so fans can feel like they're actually at the game.”

There will also be a band performance and former Husker Steve Warren will sing the national anthem before the game.

So, what did you think?  I actually kinda enjoyed it in a weird, never played videogame football before way.  Thought the QBs threw a bit too much but it made it fun to see how the offenses would have worked with some of the more current receivers although Johnny Rogers and Irving Fryer did pretty good with Crouch and Frazier slinging it around.  Good thing it was virtual, cause I think they may have had to carry a few live players off the field with some of those tackles.

Not the same as a live game, but it did satisfy some of my Husker cravings.  Now, it's back to YouTube and the kazillion games I have saved.  GBR!
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,

I didn't get to watch it, Huskerdinie.  Other things came up.  Had to run some errands on behalf of my shut-in mother, take some hot dogs to a friend who's under hospice care at home.

I'm glad it satisfied some of your cravings!

with Crouch and Frazier slinging it, I'd guess at 50% completion rate unless it's not real

I was on the golf course

Not only that, but it was a BIG GAME, often for the conference championship, somewhat less often for the right to play for a shot at the MNC on New Year's Day.

And then came the Big 12 and everything went to Hell.

Well, not everything.  But the Sooner-Husker rivalry did.

As a kid I always remembered UNL VS OU as a big rivalry and it was shown up here.Texas vs OU didn't seem like all that,Texas - Arkansas was as I recall.USC - UCLA was a big game also

I think "when [you were] a kid" is the key point there, MrNubbz.

Imagine TOSU vs. Michigan as an OOC rivalry that was just as important as it always has been, but more hateful and ugly, and played at a neutral site in the midst of the State Fair of Ohio, in Cleveland.  That would be Oklahoma vs. Texas during the Big 8 era.

OU-Texas was just as important as OU-Nebraska, but very different.

I can't speak for the Horns, of course.  But my guess is that Arkansas was their 3rd-most important rival at the time, with OU and Texas A&M taking the two top spots.

THIS WEEK IN HUSKER HISTORY

1920: Nebraska's return to the Missouri Valley Conference is delayed by a year because of the Huskers' scheduled game against Rutgers at New York's Polo Grounds. Conference rules require all games to take place on a college campus.
