No decent coach would take the job because no decent coach was offered.  John Currie had Mike Leach ready to sign when he was fired in flight back to Knoxville. Fulmer stabbed Cuurie in the back working behind the scenes to get the AD job which he has screwed the pooch on from the git go.

Only those who are in denial defend Phat Phils inadequacy, ineptness and inability. He got left behind in modern day football when he was coaching and he certainly wasn't or never will be a qualified Athletic Director.

We had a chance to hire an experienced AD David Blackburn who is a UT alum but Phat Phils buddies installed him in the job and shit show continues.

People who continue to accept what is going on don't support the University of Tennessee or it's football program they support Fulmer, Pruitt and who ever is running the damn place.
FYI..Mike Leach was 3-7 this year. Had Leach been hired you would be online everyday demanding we fire
"Lunatic Leach"...or is it  "Moonbeam Mike"...I know you would have some juvenile name for him by now.

This is hilarious...yesterday you were a Haslam fan and today you're accusing  Fulmer of stabbing Currie in the back. So you think Currie should have hired Schiano now?
Fulmer was in North Carolina at Curries request  to interview a coach when Currie was fired. Currie needed no help getting himself fired...he was a national embarrassment.
However...let's not go 24 hours without demanding someone new be fired. Let's go another 12 years of insanity... Hire then fire a coach every three years.
I like Gym but sometimes I think he eats is Cheerios and channels his energy into a good rant.  😉

Currie, per my understanding was fired for going off on his own, They needed a AD quick so Phil was a temporary hire and we need a coach quick if we was gong to sign someone.

For all of Phils faults, he has done well in keeping some coaches here and seems to have a good hire that stabilized a rapidly falling women's bball program.

I too, have my doubts about Pruitt, this year was a CF and every school was affected differently. The established programs continued to do well. In order to improve this year we need not only spring and fall camp with everybody but S&C from day one. Those did not happen. Likewise unless we have a damned good for cause termination we cannot afford to financially or from a PR standpoint. I have no doubt Phil has a short list if he has to let Pruitt go.

David Blackburn was never even considered or offered the job even though many alumni and supporters wanted him.

But it seems Phat Phil went off on his own to give a loser an extension on his contract?  No one does that unless they either a moron or just plain stupid because Pruitt wasn't on anyone's list to become their coach. It was nothing more than that good old boy crap that's imbedded at Tennessee and why we can't get a winning coach.

You and roadie need to take off those orange colored glasses so you can see what's going on in the real world. You're both blinded to the fact you don't want to admit the fat man you seem to worship wasn't the man for the job and the reason he was fired the first time.

The Covid excuse is just that an excuse it had nothing to do with poor coaching, JG continuing to play QB and piss poor on field performance showing up the coaches for what they are. Everyone had the same problems with Covid but most of them had competent coaches.

Great post Dan.  Spot on! If Pruitt is guilty of violations he should be fired immediately for cause... if not he will get another year. Unless someone like Gym is willing to chip in $40-50 million to buy out the present staff and hire a new one .

I never said he was offered, but like Phil the Haslam's did not want him when they hired Currie

So are you bigoted against those who are overweight?

Pay attention grasshopper, we were turned down by several coaches as we were a s--- show at this point for several reasons including the HOH, Currie went rouge and got canned by the administration for it, we needed a AD and a coach, Phil took it as a temporary position and did a quick search as we had to have a coach ASAP

You really need to calm down as you are making ridiculous accusations

The Covid excuse is just that an excuse it had nothing to do with poor coaching, JG continuing to play QB and piss poor on field performance showing up the coaches for what they are. Everyone had the same problems with Covid but most of them had competent coaches.

You really need to read and think about what both Road and I posted. And no not everyone had the same problems, each school was unique, I laid out a few of ours, I could have talked about Penn States as I read about them in the local paper but I don't give two hoots or a tinkers damn about them.

I'm just pointing out the obvious I'm not bigoted against fat people some have health issues and can't prevent it.  But it seems as though Tennessee had and still has more than their fair share of lard asses coaching football.

They represent the University of Tennessee so there should be standards as to what people see on the field dressed in Orange with a UT logo. No a bunch of grown men running around in something from Knoxville tent and awning.

If coaches don't have the discipline and self respect to watch their own weight they certainly don't require discipline from their players or have any respect for anyone or anything else.

Coaches should lead by example and when players see fat over weight coaches to lazy or undisciplined to take care of themselves they follow their example their lazy and undisciplined as well.

The play on the field shows it.
If everyone is thinking alike then somebody isn't thinking.

Fat?
Looks like a former offensive lineman that's in relatively good shape to me. Gym is just stuck on an old cliche' since he can't think of a new one that's appropriate.
