twitter is demanding Pruitt's head... how do they think that works? Butch is on payroll until Feb 2020, and Pruitt would be until 2023 if dropped now...
do you know what UT lacks? do you know what "if they had" we'd be having a far different conversation? a freakin' QB. JG has to go- he seems to be one of those QB's who can perform in practice but spazzes in games which perplexes coaches (been there, done that). akin to Richt, the 'almost there' factor keeps the program from making any gains because, damn it, we're 'almost there, just this one little thing'... and that one little thing is perpetuated through the entire opportunity to 'do something'.
i don't think UT is better than UF in any aspect. but i think it's a lot closer than folks realize.
the advent of having a flashing spaz at QB causes entire O sets to 'play safe'... use high percentage passing plays to 'build confidence'... you know what else that's called? "playing not to lose"... aka a pretty way of saying "playing scared".... and in shortened form "playing to lose".
these same nitwits are saying "Maurer (the freshmen qb) should NOT be dropped in a game like UGA promises as it will break his confidence".... uh, what confidence? Have you EVER heard that bull shit before? either freakin' a QB has 'it', or they don't. it's that freakin' simple. did Fromm, as a for instance, have an opportunity to 'ease in?'.... no- he went in and won his teams respect and regard. if he hadn't? Smart would have found one who did..
the D was eaten alive by the deep center passes UF slung- 14-20 yard drop ins like clockwork... it wasn't adjusted and for reasons unknown- that was ALL on players. they were in position which is what scheme offers- they simply didn't make the play...
if those TWO items were addressed? Ut still would most likely have lost, but... it would have been a LOT closer and there would be none of this negative BS trying to dump a coach, sending players toward the portal, and scaring recruits away.
this shit is just stupid. "my program and all the hope, all for a decent QB".
