I hope the silver lining is…

…there is no SEC in playoffs.  I want to see Alabama go nuts by being left out.  

If I had a vote and nothing funny happens 

1. Michigan 
2. Texas
3. Washington 
4. FSU

This may be the only way the world has a win.  Since the true win didn’t happen and there was no meteor to hit the stadium tonight.

With AL there is always something funny going on. I predicted AL to beat GA and now AL gets in. Saban will not have it otherwise.

I would like the committee to say:
1. Michigan

3. Florida State
4. Texas

The winner of Michigan/Alabama will be the national champs.

I agree but it would be criminal if FSU is not in regardless of their QB situation. Thye earned it during the regular season. How could you keep a 13-0 FSU out?

That is the big debate.  Do you take the most deserving team — FSU, or the better team — Bama.

The CFB committee chair has stated over and over that they will choose the 4 ‘best’ teams. 

I’ve got a crappy feeling that Bama is getting in. 

It would be better for the actual game play, no doubt.  FSU would get destroyed and we’d see a non competitive game, I believe.

Texas #2?
Sheet far, man.  Let's look at it.
Texas beat Bama on Sept 9.
Since then, Bama has reeled off 11 straight.  Including a SECCG win against repeat NC and #1 Georgia, ending their zillion game winning streak.

Texas lost to their biggest rival.  And beat OKSt.  Whee.

Where's the comparison?

I don't like Bama.  But I can remember over 50 Bama-UT games.  Of those, less than 20 are Vol victories.  Credit where credit is due.  At least we get our butts kicked regularly by the best.  Along with everybody else. 

It should be Michigan, UW, FSU, Bama.

Simple.  No argument.  

HOWEVER -- the Biden-voting bean-counters had an FSU provision WRITTEN IN to the selection criteria -- "if a team has key players injured"...

So put away your hankies, FSU.  Besides, if Clemson had a FG kicker, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

The biggest "what if"?

Texas beats Oklahoma.  No SEC Champ in the their little dog and pony show playoff?

Huh.

A writer on another site said "too bad we don't have a 12-team playoff this year...".

Hell -- why stop at 12?  Why not 24?  48?  68, with a two-game play-in?

Bah.  Humbug.
