Does This Sound Like a Coach Who Even Has a Clue?
« on: October 18, 2020, 09:15:02 AM »

I think not it's more and more like "We're gonna watch the film and work like heck to get better".

Isn't it the coaching staffs job to make sure the players are improving not just tell them to.

He still doesn't know the reason the team isn't improving offensively is the QB.

snip:

But when you look at this, it’s like I just told the team, there are lots of areas you need to improve on, obviously. But it’s about creating the right habits. It’s how you practice every single day. It’s the work ethic, creating the right habits. It’s on everybody within our organization to really improve that, you know? We’ve got to work hard to do that.”

We should be gaining steam offensively and we haven’t. I actually thought today, from a physicality standpoint, we played better offensively running the football than we had in the previous games. And threw the ball. Threw some nice passes out there. Four turnovers, you know?

Sounds like coach speak to me, words that basically mean nothing.

If a program gets a bit of a rep for firing coaches every 3-4 years it's not good, duh.  It's also not good to hang on to a coach who is not helping the program.  Florida went through some bad coaches before Mullen, who I think has them coming back now.  LSU was murmuring about Orgeron before last season.

It may be a tougher call than some realize, but I watched most of the game yesterday and I have little good to note about it for the Vols.  Practicably speaking, I don't think Pruitt gets fired before next season is out.  2020 is going to get an asterisk.
