if this season is a mulligan... it makes me scratch my head on the DLC being fired.
the DL was one of the places the team wasn't hurting. it may be the only place, actually. The LB's do good on the run, but can't cover- and that goes for TooToo too... he's a hellacious pass rusher and a great run plugger... but he flat out sucks in coverage. the DB's aren't helping.
the OL is going through the motions with a bafoon at QB... seriously, the kid sucks SO bad- and the coaches are stuck to him. i'm no longer even joking when i suggest there is a contract... it's the only thing that makes sense. even Chaney can't do anything with it- he shifts to high percentage plays and confidnce building plays.
the depth is an issue, but the defensive depth isn't a big an issue as... wait for it... JG. if they had an opportunity to breath while the O is on deck, I'm thinking they'd play more than a little better. i also think the moral is under fire with him there too...
this IS year three.. mulligan or not... and to wonder? look east at Mack Brown. UNC didn't have the talant UT has even under bitch jonas brother... so... i ain't buying it. what i see is a team that plays apprehensive. scared to screw up.. unrehearsed. or, not properly prepared... distracted team? sure... but that's on the coaches too. it's their job to maintain focus. insofar as play- it's ALL JG... he still does shit even a freshman doesn't do.. he can throw a streak or a flag as he's throwing in front of the receiver vertically... he can't lead a horizontal receiver to save his life- he throws where the receiver is not where he's going- and that, only after staring him down since he laid hands on the ball. he can't check. he is clumsy with the tuck.. he started, against bama (i watched DVR late Saturday night) shoveling the ball at Gray and then pretending to be in the pocket- in some ridiculous stance feet four feet apart as if he's surveying the field... that must have been something winkee wink told him to do... i bet he congratulated him for doing it, too... meanwhile, after the first quarter all i had to do was look at the kids feet right after the snap to see where the ball was going...
if they want recruits... if they want to compete any time soon... it's time for JG to sit or go. i hate the kid doesn't have 'it'- but he simply doesn't. Mauer didn't look too hot... the other kid didn't either.. but bailey showed promise. that kid needs to take the remainder of the snaps this season by my reckoning.
