Which programs do you think appear to be on an upswing, downswing, or stable, over five years?

Is A&M on an upswing?  This was thought to be their year except for the brutal schedule.  Will they become competitive with Bama and LSU?

Bama has an aging coach who might well still be there in five years.  They are stable I think.

LSU might have their one or two years really competitive because of the QB they found.  Might be waining a bit?

Arky has to get better, because they can't get worse.  Everyone else in the west looks about stable to me.

I think Florida is getting better over time, they need an elite QB and will find a better OL.  UGA is stable I think.  Tennessee I think will get better over time, in part because they aren't great now.  Kentucky is interesting, they may oscillate between mediocre and the occasional pretty good year.  Everyone else looks stable to me.  Mizzou and USCe can pick it up if they find a really good QB.

I think the year LSU is having on Offense is going to help them start attracting better QB's over time. As long as that offensive coordinator stays they should be able to recruit well on offense. 

Alabama isn't going away and even if Saban retires they will still get a great coach who recruits well. 

Florida loses ALOT after this year and they haven't lit the world on fire in recruiting. They lost quite a bit from last year's signing class already.  At best they lose Perine, Hammond, Van Jefferson, Freddie Swain, Jaewon Taylor, David Reese, Greenard, Tyrie Cleveland, Zuniga,
Gotta think CJ Henderson and Tony may test the NFL waters.  They may finish 3rd or 4th in the East in recruiting this year. 

Arkansas....man...don't even know what to say about them. They can't get any worse can they? 
Tennessee, i think Pruitt will get them back to respectability. This team has grown up a bit in the last few games, Jennings seems to have become more involved in the game plans, but he and Marquez Callaway are seniors.  The Oline appears to be improving.  If they can get to a bowl game this year by winning 2 out of the last 3 that will be a good start especially how the season started out. 

In 2030, UGA will play Clemson, OSU, and GT, and the next year Oklahoma, @OSU, and @GT.

In 2028, UGA plays @ Texas, FSU, and GT and in 2029, Texas, @ Clemson, @ GT.

Ouch.  Is this good for recruiting?

The thinking is there will be an 8 team playoff by then with every conference champion assured in so the ooc record does not matter at all.  The thinking is also a more attractive schedule will help recruiting because most great players want to play other great players.

I can't fathom a recruit caring about a team's OOC schedule 3 years down the line.

All games are on TV now.

So, is any program out there likely to change drastically in five years?  I suppose that is impossible to predict.  Ole Miss made a jump with some dubious recruiting.  I didn't expect the Vols to drop as far and as long as they have.  They easily could be a 8-4 kind of team in 5 years, or better.  They could have been 8-4 this year with their OOC slate.  Mizzou and USCe strike me as "hanging around" kinds of teams.  Vandy might get to 6-6 on occasion.

A&M has the resources to turn out 10 win seasons.  MSU should on occasion.  Arky HAS to get better somehow.  They are in Rutgers territory.
