"Never threatened to close the gap" in a one-score game at the beginning of the 4th quarter where Texas had already gotten a TD and made the 2-point conversion?

LOL

We didn’t do shit on the DL vs Auburn and USC. It doesn’t help that we haven’t had a holding call on the opposing OL since mid-Sept, which is unbelievable.
Horns get called for phantom holding all the time, so today's going to be your lucky day!

What I love is the ball is snaped no flags
Ewers goes back to pass no flags
Ewers throws the ball 30 yards to our tight end no flags
Our tight end then runs 20 yards for a TD and then theres a flag fior holding
gets kinda old
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Judging by the turn this thread took, UT vs. ATM is the new Bedlam. I thought that there was a separate thread for that game, but I guess I was wrong.

There wasn't much bedlam in Death Valley last night. Congrats to LSU for a dominating performance in all three phases of the game. The Tigers converted a bunch of 3rd-down plays. Nussmeier hit two TD bombs despite good coverage. Special teams produced a 100-yard KO return. And defense limited the Sooner offense to 10 points, all in the 1st half.

Maybe next year . . . .

Does this mean we're better than Alabama?

I haven't watched the game but I got text updates throughout the evening from a couple friends, one of whom was watching in person.

Apparently the middle school girls that make up the interior of our OL were at it again, and just as I feared were getting crushed by OU's DL.  You know, as "meh" as our defense is, we might have only one loss if our center and guards didn't have the strength, technique, and talent of...well...middle school girls.  The rest of the offense can be quite good at times.

Anyway, they finally got Nuss hurt at one point, but he was able to re-enter the game and after that one of my friends said it was like the line manned up and all of the sudden it got real for them.  They were still outclassed, but Nuss had another beat or two to run his play.

Sigh....welcome to the season, guys.  We're happy to have you for longer, if you visit next year.

I don't keep up with our program the way I used to (or yours either), so I can't really speculate on what kind of team we might have next year.

Two things I do want to note after watching this game are:

1)  Can I just say how weird it was to see OU on our field?  I didn't watch a lot of their games this year so I missed a number of their run-ins with SEC teams, and it was just a bizarre feeling I didn't expect to watch Oklahoma play us in Tiger Stadium.  I watched all of Texas' games, but a number of those are things I'm used to seeing--at least from old times--like @A&M, Arkansas, OU at the neutral site, etc.  The other oddest feeling I had this season was watching Florida in DKR.....that just felt so surreal.  I think I had the same reaction several times back in 2012 when A&M joined, but by this point they're an SEC fixture.  Apparently I'm still getting used to the new guys, and the whole time I watched this game I felt like these guys are wearing a familiar Norman-based uniform, but that can't really be the OU, not in our house.

2)  I really want an explanation on why our purple jerseys appear royal blue on ESPN networks.  I've seen them in person and I sometimes have friends at games, and they assure me our jerseys, as well as our endzone, are still actually purple.  But has anyone noticed how when LSU wears the rare purple jerseys, they don't at all look purple on tv?  I remember the old TigerVision games back when Tier 3 rights were still a thing, and we usually had purple jerseys for those games, and they looked purple.  But I've noticed for years on ESPN that they aren't the right color.  I feel like we're being misrepresented, and I want to know what's up with that.

2a)  I also want to know why we wore the purple jerseys at all.  Usually in this case our odd tradition would've dictated the away-whites most people are familiar with.  I know it used to be the case the visiting team had the option on which jerseys to wear, and so wearing the away-whites at home was afforded to us by the visiting teams, except in rare cases when visitors chose to be punks and deny it for no reason, in which case we usually walloped them for their trouble....but I don't know that it's the case anymore.  Or why OU would've denied it.  I did noticed we were wearing white pants and helmets, instead of gold, so I'm assuming it was some odd special-uni kind of thing.  But it's an odd time in the season to have done the one-off Nike uniform, and I've never seen them do purple (or blue, on tv) jerseys when doing the one-offs.

MdT:

I too was disappointed to see purple and white rather than purple and gold with white jerseys. Those white-jersey unis are some of the best in CFB.

I also have to say that the hatred did not seem to be flowing. You mentioned awhile back (a board or two back) that the LSU fans at Tiger Stadium are hospitable to visitors while the LSU fans at bowl games tend to be flaming a-holes.

Based on last week's game, I think that you were right. I have heard no horror stories from OU fans who went to the game; quite the opposite, in fact. OTOH, OU fans who went to the 2003 (season) NCG in the Sugar Bowl thought that the LSU fans there were even worse than Miami fans.

Anyway, congrats again on the Tigers' win and good luck against the "Sic 'em, JEEEZUSS!!!" Baylor Bears in Houston.
